About Me

I am an accomplished performing musician that has experience playing many different instruments in multiple styles. It's these qualities in my own musicianship that have helped me grow a true love of music and have pushed my career forward as a performer.

*** Lesson Details ***
In lessons I use a shifting curriculum that is made to work with the needs of each individual student. I firmly believe in the importance of learning to read music and learning some basic music theory, in my experience this helps the student grow from being able to reproduce the music of others to eventually developing a unique style and sound. *** Lesson Details ***
I was five years old when I discovered my singing voice. My youthful curiosity soon blossomed into a passion for musical expression through voice, violin, piano, and guitar. Now, my mission is to share the musical exploration that has enriched my life by fostering my students' desires to express themselves through music.

As a teacher, I focus equally on formal technique and artistic expression. Mastering correct form provides the foundation upon which a student’s capacity for the latter may grow. Techniques used during lessons are designed to develop a holistic understanding of music through aural, visual, and tactile cues. These include ear training, sight-reading, improvisation and using touch and visualization to navigate the instrument. Progress is evaluated by developing a set of goals specific to each student. I find that allowing students input in originating goals facilitates a cooperative learning environment and allows me to tailor lessons to a student's interests, strengths and learning preferences. Providing students with a plan to succeed inspires a drive to learn and sense of achievement. I encourage students to play their instruments daily. Through consistent practice, students will benefit from increased discipline, patience, creativity and self-esteem. Students are rewarded with the chance to share what they've learned at recitals held biannually. My philosophy is that mistakes are opportunities for improvement. For the duration of our lesson, my students are in a private, nurturing zone of free expression. Join me in an exploration of personal talent and creativity!

By 1997, Natalie was signed to an independent label and embarked on a new adventure.

"Music is an adventure, but without the foundation and passion I had as a child, I would have never landed where I did. I truly LOVE to teach and share what I know about piano, and the world of music. Music is what I know, and know best. Helping to create a solid foundation and build confidence in someone embarking on a journey in music is the most rewarding profession I have ever had the honor of participating in."

Cooking, Drum, Fitness, Karate, Strength and Conditioning

About Me

I teach a wide range of skills that include Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, Karate, Cooking, and Drum lessons.

Fitness Background:
Most of my physical fitness training has come from the U.S. Army. I am a Veteran of Active Duty and currently serving as an Army Reservist. I have earned several Army Physical Fitness Excellence badges for having high/maximum test scores on APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test). The other part of my training comes from karate. I currently study Isshinryu Karate, which include endurance, strength and conditioning training. While living in Boston I used to give private fitness instruction to students and would incorporate stretching exercises into my lessons for music students. I am able to teach fitness to all ages, but must have a current physical completed by a doctor prior to training. I write training programs for each individual based on their needs and goals.

Cooking Background:
I have worked in the for many years in a variety of cuisines, but my main focus is Rustic Italian. I attended the Culinary Arts program while a student at Daytona Beach Community College, FL and was one of the first to start the Culinary Management program. Over the years I have learned new skills, which I like to pass on to my students, that include, Irish bar fare, American BBQ, Country-style French cuisine, and game meats. I also teach campfire cooking that include fire building basics and cooking methods. While living in Boston I had weekly classes that would teach students to create meals on a budget, yet use quality ingredients. I have experience working as a Chef Grillardin, Chef Garde-Manger , Chef Potager, Chef saucier, Glacier, Tournant (swing cook), and a Food and Beverage Manager.

Music Background:
I have been playing music for 17 years and come from a very musical family. Even though my principle instrument is the drum kit, I am also sharpening my skills as a bassist, pianist, guitarist. I enjoy many different types of music and typically play pop, jazz, rock, Latin, R&B, soul, funk and fusion. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to attend Berklee College of Music back in 2004, which is when I started teaching music lessons around the Boston area. I am self taught, which gives me an insight to the frustration that some student endure during their beginning stages of learning. I have had the opportunity to have played with several musicians in Florida including, Reed Waddle, Phil Bonanno, Sergei Kossenko, TC Castillo and Lauren Ellis. I was also a Stage Production Manager for The Ultimate Thriller Show and have worked as a Production Assistant on several video production projects, so you could say that entertainment is in my blood. I take the time to create individual lesson plans based on the students ability and goals. Whether you want to learn a new hobby or start a career as a professional musician, I will help create your path.
