Classical Voice, Musical Theater, Music Performance, Music Theory, Opera Voice, Singing, Vocal Training
I am an opera singer opening my studio for all who wish to learn the art of vocal music.
During my undergraduate studies I was frequently featured as a soloist for concerts and productions, and performed many diverse operatic roles from Mozart to Strauss including Gilda (Rigoletto), Laetitia (Old Maid and the Thief), Countess Almaviva (Le Nozzi di Figaro) Sophie (Der Rodenkavalier) Susannah (Susannah). When I was not on stage at my university, I was performing with the Orlando Opera Company. Our performances included Die Fledermaus, Cavalleria Rusticana, Il Trovatore, and Suor Angelica.
After receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Bethune-Cookman University, I spent a summer abroad studying French in Toulouse, France. Upon my return to the U.S. I began classes for my Master's Degree in Vocal Performance at Southern Illinois University in Carbonale, IL. There I was cast as Countess Almaviva in a fully staged production of Mozart's Le Nozzi di Figaro. During the summer I was cast as Stephano in Charles Gounod's Romeo et Juliette for the Southern Illinois Summer Festival. I currently perform various vocal gigs in and around New York.
My specialty is classical voice, however, I am willing and able to accommodate any and all voice types, genres, and interests. All music is welcome and appreciated in my studio so don't be shy! I look forward to sharing my love of music!

Graduating with my bachelors in biology and psychology, I have studied much of the natural and social sciences. I supplemented my classroom knowledge with my neuroscience research and clinical shadowing in hospitals. As for my musical knowledge, I continued to study voice and piano through college. I started taking piano lessons in elementary school, continued with competitions in middle and high school, and performed in college. I started studying voice at the same time, competed in middle and high school, and participated in a concert with the best high school singers in the state multiple years.
I started tutoring about 5 years ago at the University of South Florida for college students, from autistic students to Honors College students to international students. I took classes at the University of South Florida and got my certifications as a tutor last year. I traveled to Italy two years ago and taught Italian children to speak English. I also developed lesson plans and taught university international students to speak English through INTO USF.
I have tutored many diverse subjects such as all levels of math, physiology, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, SAT and ACT preparation, GRE preparation, and having given vocal and piano lessons. My students have been of all ages ranging from 5 year olds learning piano to 65 year olds working on breathing techniques.
I enjoy the material I have learned and helping others understand it too. I find different ways to explain the material so that the student has the best understanding he/she can have. I am patient and flexible. I like starting my sessions by making a plan that is specific to the student's needs and working towards the long term goals that student has.
