Diedrich W. Minneapolis, MN

Learning to record is fun and the tools you need can be quite inexpensive these days. I help you use software and microphones to capture your songs, experiment with arrangements, or even create a professional demo. For the more advanced student, I help master basic recording fundamentals re: equalization, compression, mic choice and placement, midi instrument utilization, mixing skills and preparing for post production.

About Diedrich

I hold a Music and English degree from Hamline University, but that doesn't make me a good teacher. I've played professionally for over 25 years, have taught English as a Second Language, Hockey and Audio Engineering, taught people age 5 to 75, and have taught private music lessons full time in Minneapolis for the past 9 years, but this doesn't make me a good teacher. What makes me a good teacher is that I have an infectious love of music and a passionate commitment to helping people. I do have specialties, like helping singer/songwriters develop their lyrics, arrangements, voice, and performance as well as helping artists get through creativity blocks, stage fright and preparing for studio recording. My experience as a producer, studio musician and audio engineer has ...

I’m a lifetime student and decided to take voice lessons this year. Diedrich has been an amazing teacher. He spends time getting to know the student and learning her goals to create the best plan for her. He’s a great listener and observer which allows him to quickly adapt to the students needs.

No need to look for another teacher in the Twin Cities. If you’re reading this, you've found the best and should book your first lesson now.

The BEST Guitar Teacher I've EVER had!

Diedrich,
Is a very nice, genuine person, who is honest, straightforward, and knows EXACTLY what he is doing. He is smart, wise, funny, and very charismatic. He makes taking guitar lessons a joy, rather than a chore.

I would recommend Diedrich to anyone pursuing guitar or bass lessons, whether it is for one or two lessons, or for the long term mentoring and instruction, of which he is extremely capable of providing.

Great teacher, very adaptive and receptive to individual interests

Diedrich is a great teacher and makes learning feel fun as opposed to a chore. Granted there is practice and work involved with any lessons you take, he does a great job at relating this to your specific interests which helps you stay interested in what you are learning. He provides a good mix of fun with progressing your musical knowledge and is a great communicator outside of lesson times if you have any questions. I feel you get more from him than just the lesson time, which shows great dedication to his students.

About my vocal lessons/coaching:

Michele is an experienced and accomplished singer and coach. We've worked together professionally as artists, and I've seen first hand her ability to move an audience, convey the emotion in a lyric and tell a story. Michele is also an avid student of the craft and knows what it takes to develop your instrument to a higher level as she believes that an artist's growth is continuous and unending. For beginners, intermediate level singers and professionals alike - if you are serious about taking your vocal and performance abilities to a higher level, do not hesitate to work with Michele.

I like to record myself often, and I like to be recorded by others. While recording at some of the finest studios in the Twin Cities, I just love the feeling of hearing what my friends and I just threw down and froze in time.

About Beau

Hello,
My name is Beau. The bass guitar is a great passion of mine and I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with others. I am eager to teach as well as continue my own personal journey as a musician. Initially self-taught, I attended McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN where I earned a degree in Bass Performance studying under Terry Burns, Gary Raynor, Jay Young, Jeff Bailey, and Charles Fletcher.

I have been performing professionally in various original and cover/variety/wedding bands for over 6 years. I am very happy to have selected Colin as my drum teacher. He is patient and explains concepts clearly. I find that he provides helpful feedback identifying both what I am doing correctly and where I need to adjust. He adjusts the lessons to my progress, so I feel that I am receiving individualized instruction. I am a long time educator and know good instruction when I see it, and I see it in him!

Colin has been a great inspiration in my son's playing. It has brought a level of creativity and improvisation that he just wasn't learning from other teachers. He truly cares about his students and has a positive energy that helps motivate my son to be a better player. Colin has the chops and spectacular sense of timing and song memory. Excellent!

I started learning drums from Colin starting June 2013. I am a beginner and Colin was my first drum teacher.

I really liked the way Colin provided step by step guidance. He has great patience when it comes to work with beginner like me. I am really glad I learnt under his guidance. He was very encouraging which is really helpful especially at the beginning.

Colin teaches how to do and play things right. I learnt really cool beats from him in my first set of lessons. Overall it was fun experience.

I would definitely recommend Colin.

And thanks a ton to Colin for being such an excellent instructor...
Aaron T. Saint Paul, MN

I first began recording my own music in 2003 and have been doing it ever since. I built my first recording computer in 2007 and have slowly pieced together my own amateur studio. I primarily use Cakewalk Sonar, but also have plenty of experience with Logic, ProTools, FL Studio, and a handful of other recording programs.

About Aaron

First off, I would like to say that I am extremely passionate about music, and even more so passionate about helping others. To combine the two through providing musical instruction is something I have always enjoyed doing.

I have been playing guitar and drums for over a decade and teaching for about half of that time. I have a Bachelors of Music in Contemporary Urban and Pop music with guitar as my primary instrument and drums as my secondary. I also spent much of my time in school studying songwriting and music production. I have played and toured with many different bands with music from a variety of styles and genres, and have spent vast amounts of time in the studio recording and producing myself and various other artists.

In terms of guitar lessons, I realize that all ...
