Playing guitar has surpassed being a hobby for me, it has become a way of life. Every day I practice and write music, trying to further develop my individual style. I have been a working musician since 2005. In that time I have played with bands doing folk, rock, classic rock, blues, jazz, musicals, reggae, punk, funk, covers and much more! I learned there are two main aspects of being a successful guitar player: Listening actively, and practicing regularly. I began teaching in 2006, and have successfully taught 100's of students. My goal as an instructor: I help you overcome the difficulties of learning guitar and push you in the direction you want, using songs and exercises to help get you there.

Jason has been playing guitar for over 15 years and teaching music since 1996. He instructs students, ages 5 to 105 years old, in music theory, guitar, bass guitar, banjo, keyboard and acoustic guitar. Although trained in standard teaching methods, he has developed his own method of teaching to positively enhance the student’s strength, dexterity, ear-training, memorization and techniques. His goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician.

Jason has been transcribing for guitar and bass since the age of 18 and since then has become a master of the craft including both 5 line staff and tablature, hand-crafted exercises and deconstructions to better enhance the students learning. Jordan was born and raised in the El Centro, California where he began playing the alto sax in the elementary band program. At the age of 12, he began his study of guitar and drums, performing in several rock and ska bands around his home town and San Diego. At age 14, is where he found his love for brass instruments when he took up the trombone. While in high school he became a featured soloist with the Imperial Valley College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary trumpeter Jimmy Cannon. It was this that lead Jordan to accept the Constance Weldon Music Scholarship to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.

I began playing trumpet at age 9, guitar at age 12, and bass at age 16. While I am a serviceable trumpet player, I found my true loves in guitar and bass and perform almost exclusively on those instruments today.

I played in my high school Jazz and Concert bands, as well as rock bands outside of school. I followed my passion for music to college, where I graduated with Honors from the rigorous Music program at Roosevelt University in Chicago, with a bachelors degree in music performance. I focused on Jazz, but did learn classical theory and harmony as well.

Throughout college I earned income teaching lessons, and continue to this day, giving me over 12 years teaching experience. I perform professionally for a variety of bands in many genres, and write music for my own bands and for theatre productions.

Kevin T. is a music professor at MUM, Vice president of the San Diego Songwriters guild, and CEO of Songwriting Planet. He is an instructor of guitar, bass, voice, piano, songwriting, composition, orchestration, jazz arranging, music theory, ear training, production and engineering, and music business and career development. He graduated from Musicians Institute with a performance certificate, received his BA degree with honors from Berklee College of Music with a dual major in Songwriting and Performance, and received his Masters degree in Music Composition from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music.

I grew up in a small town in Northern CA. I started playing guitar at seven and am still just as passionate about it. I also compose music and have been in a few bands. I have been playing guitar for 14 years (teaching for 5) I have a commercial music diploma in performance and education. I started talking lessons young and kept it up all throughout high school. I know proper technique with classical, some flamenco, jazz, rock, blues, country, pop, metal, and experimental type music. Teach everything from basic theory to advanced theory.

I have been teaching and performing in the San Diego area for many years and have used that experience to develop lessons for any level of player. My program emphasizes all around musicianship in addition to technical ability. Being a musician is more than simply learning repertoire. I help my students get the skills needed to be capable, independent performers. While studying at UCSD, I was awarded double honors for my work in Guitar Performance and Composition. In 2010, I was given awards for "Most Outstanding Graduating Senior" and "Outstanding Classical Music Performance". In January of this year, my latest ensemble piece "Bell Music" was given its premiere in Zurich, Switzerland by Ensemble TaG.

I am currently working with autistic individuals using music and musical instruments as a tool. I am the drummer in the Lenny Fuzzy Rankins Band better known as fuzzy and the Bluesman. I also have my own group called Smooth Groove where I drum and sing. I have been playing drums for 40 years and have been singing for just as long. I have been playing professionally for 30 years. I produced Jacob Lusk one of American Idols finalist from last season 2011. I have been a songwriter for most of my life. After graduating from Salford University, England with a Bachelors degree (Honors) in Music and Composing I worked for a short time as a commercial "jingle" writer, before moving to San Diego, marrying my dream girl, and opening my own music recording, teaching and production studio. From there I have been teaching lessons, recording bands and writing music for independent film ad video games for the last 6 years. Throughout this time I've been continually performing live in venues all over California.
