About Me
Lydia began playing violin for her sixth birthday, and soon joined her first youth orchestra two years later, and participated with the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra for ten years. She attended the School for the Creative and Performing Arts majoring in Violin from grade school all the way through high school. Following high school, Lydia received a full scholarship to attend the University of Kentucky in Music Performance where she received her Bachelor’s in Music. She is now currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Music Education at the University of Tennessee as a graduate assistant in the Strings Initiative Program and will finish in 2014. Lydia began teaching violin in 2003 using various methods including Suzuki as well as other classical and traditional styles. She is currently the String Orchestra Director at a public intermediate school.
Lydia is enthusiastic, and passionate about teaching children although encourages and teaches all ages of aspiring violinists.
