I love teaching music to anyone who has an interest! Just about everyone likes some kind of music and I want to be able to help you make your own! Whether you like classical music or that really great song on the radio we will get you to where you can play it.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Music touches our lives every day. Music is there for us to help express our emotions feelings, fears and hopes. With what you learn in your lessons you will be able to make your own music, whether it be from the printed page or something that you have composed yourself. I will provide a teaching environment that will be encouraging and caring. We will work together to create great music from your very own fingers and who knows, maybe one day you will share your talent with the world!!!

MY EDUCATION

My story started on the day my mom said “HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHER!! Today, for your 7th year birthday, you are going to start taking piano lessons!!” Well, I didn’t know what to think about that...

Born in Arlington, Texas, I began playing guitar and bass guitar in high school. After studying for several years under Joey Faust, I studied Jazz, Classical Guitar, and Music Theory at TCC in Fort Worth. I've been teaching since 2003, my students ranging in age from 3 to over 70. I also play piano, mandolin, banjo, and ukulele.

I teach my students how to understand how music is put together so they can learn even more on their own.

I read, write, and play all styles and I focus on teaching the student fundamentals that work in all styles of music ....AND I get them going on the style they are interested in - pop, rock, country, folk, etc.

I have spent my entire life in the music industry and I can show you how to use what I teach to apply to the real world. I have also been a successful songwriter and I can work with students to learn about song structure and song writing.

I am also good at preparing students for college music classes.

I started playing recognizable melodies on the piano at 18 months old. At that time I was told that I even had perfect pitch. By age 5, my mother started giving me classical, gospel, and improvisational lessons. I was one of her 50 students until my senior year in high school. Through elementary, junior high, and high school, I received a lot of performance experience from school marching/concert bands, choirs, church choirs, piano concerts, band/choral conducting, and composing.

I received my BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington; through college and to the present, I have received over 25 years of performing/directing experience from overseeing two mega-church music ministries. At these ministries, I served as the department head, responsible for lead piano, directing, arranging, worship leading, and departmental oversight.

That’s right! I have been teaching and performing music for 30 years! And, I hope to teach and perform another 30 years! I love music and I love sharing it with others. Music is fun, educational, and inspirational, and my love for it is contagious. I'm the new flute teacher and music appreciation teacher at Tarrant County College Northeast Campus! I'm a flute specialist, but also am a great teacher for piano, voice, and guitar.

I’ve spent most of my life learning as much as I could as fast as I could about music. I completed my Master of Music degree from the University of New Mexico in 1989 and completed 50+ hours towards a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas soon after. I’ve had articles published in “Flute Talk” and “Flute Forum,” and I was the Advertising Editor for the Flutist Quarterly for five years. With 35 years of music-related experience, Danaila is in her 15th year of working as a professional musician and teacher. She has experience teaching from 5-year-old to 55-year-old students, from the beginners to advanced students. Some of her advances students are winners of national competitions and now having a successful career as singers in Europe and America.

Born in Bulgaria, Danaila began her formal music studies at the age of 5 with piano and theory lessons. She won her first prize performing piano when she was 10 years old. Her passion for singing took her to participate actively at children’s and youth choirs. As a soloist singer for a National Choir she traveled all around Europe, performing in France, Holland, Germany, Hungary, Greece inter alia. Danaila earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Master’s Degree in Voice Pedagogy in Bulgaria, both with honors, and received a special mention as outstanding student. Hello there! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education - Vocal/Choral Concentration. I have been singing for the past fifteen years (most years as a bass -- even at 11!) in both church and school. A fun fact to know about me: I did not originally intend to make singing a long-term commitment since I was unaware of school choirs being present! Ever since sixth grade, I have been in some sort of choir every year, whether it is/was a school, church, or community chorus. I was a member of the Fort Worth ISD All-City Honor for 7 years (middle and high school), the Texas Music Educators' Association Region 5 Middle/Junior High School Choir, TMEA High School District Choir (1 year), Region Choir (3 years), and All-State Choir (2 years) With that said, I have learned many new things as a choir student, and I am STILL learning. I have a Masters Degree in Music Education. I have been a Piano teacher for children at US military bases in Germany and Italy, and at a Music Schools in Russia.

Music has been my passion since childhood. Having learned at an early age the benefits of music in all areas of life, I want to encourage you to give me an opportunity to impart the knowledge, skills, techniques and passion that has driven me to share this with the world. I am a trained classical pianist and have studied with the best. I have been teaching for years and look forward to spending time with you as you grow in your love for music too! I am an independent recording artist who loves to perform, write and produce good music.

Music is a way of connecting peoples' passions, dreams, and goals. It calms the mind, soothes the soul, and brings joy to the hardest and saddest of hearts. I am currently working on my Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Dallas Baptist University. Needless to say, my life literally revolves around music. I have taken piano since early elementary school and have a passion to share my love of music with others. I have studied under Laura Lozano until graduation from high school and under Beth Quillian at DBU. I have taught piano lessons for a few years now and cannot find another joy that compares to watching a child's face when they find worth in themselves and are proud of the music they are making! I love to find fun and unique ways of teaching the art of performance, skill, technique, theory, and rhythm--no matter the age of the student.
