About Mike

Music is my life and air. I started playing the drums when I was 12 years old. I played in every band and music ensemble I could throughout junior high, high school, and college. I have played in bands outside of school with music styles ranging from Rock, Punk, Hardcore, Metal, and Hip Hop. Since 2008, I have been teaching private drum set lessons and marching percussion to students of all ages and backgrounds, including Special Needs.

Recently, I attended the University of Texas at Arlington where I furthered my education in music teaching, music theory, performance, and percussion. I am also an experienced Djembe and Didgeridoo performer. Teaching and encouraging others in music comes naturally to me, and my degree in Music Business supports knowing how to prepare lessons and ...

Great drummer and great guy

Mike volunteers drumming for the band I lead at a local church. Regardless of how difficult the song selection is, he nails his part every week. Mike's experience with diverse musical genres allows him to draw upon a wide range of rhythms and techniques. In addition to his talent, Mike's character stands out as well. Each week he arrives early, is prepared, and friendly.

Since the first time I spoke with H.S. she has seemed like a long lost friend or family member. She is very sweet, kind, understanding and truly has a hear for teaching children. My daughter loves her and is always ready to hear from her since our lessons are done over skpe.Tthe teacher knows well what she is doing and is able to communicate firmly but lovingly and that is what kids need. She is easy to respect and like as her personality is very congenial and sweet.

Heidi is an amazing and effective flute teacher!

As an adult flute player, I am thrilled to have discovered Heidi. From the first lesson, I realized she is an excellent flute teacher who goes above and beyond during each lesson, making every second count. Heidi is patient, flexible, organized, professional, and fun to work with. I believe Heidi is a RARE find as she is an exceedingly effective teacher. She listens attentively and finds just the right solutions to each flute playing issue. As a result she has helped me develop a new posture, better tone, and improved technical skills. We have been utilizing Skype for my lessons and this arrangement has worked out particularly well. Additionally, Heidi goes the extra mile and then one step more! For example, after a lesson she makes an audio recording of her playing the current technical exercise and music piece, including both parts to flute duets and then emails them to me. This is especially helpful as it is like having Heidi with me during my daily practice sessions. It is evident that Heidi is passionate about teaching flute. Additionally, she is a pleasure to work with! With the highest endorsement, I recommend Heidi for teaching flute.

Thankful for Ms. Heidi!

How thankful we are to have found Ms. Heidi! She is a kind, patient, lovely person and my life and the lives of my children have been enriched by her. Her love of music is contagious and she is a very sweet teacher, always making lessons positive and educational for my 6 year old...who tends to get discouraged quite easily, but Ms. Heidi is a pro at handling this! He is getting more talented every week and lessons are something we look forward to each week. I have two younger daughters as well and we all go to Ms. Heidi’s studio. She is so sweet to entertain them by offering books and such to read during my son’s lesson. Pretty soon they’ll be all playing piano together! We all love our piano teacher and feel special to know her. She is a talented teacher and wonderful person, and we would recommend her to anyone.

About Melodie

Music has been a very important part of my life for a long time. I began taking piano lessons at age 9 and also started as a church musician that same year. Some people would say I was a very fast learner! I was, and still am, very interested in every aspect of music. I began singing in church and school a few years after that. I have played and performed a variety of styles of music but I have the most experience with Christian music, classical, pop and R & B. I am confident that I can teach you whatever style you are interested in! I am currently a high school choral director and a minister of music for church. I also play in a band with a group of my co-workers where we perform mostly pop, rock and oldies. I have been doing private lessons since I was in high school and ...

Carl W. Fort Worth, TX

About Carl

As far back as I can remember I have always enjoyed performing music. I can remember during my elementary school years how I would play drums during church service. Some days I would sneak in my dad's closet to play his saxophone. I began learning how to play saxophone in middle school and by the time I was in high school I was learning piano, performing jazz, and composing music.
I went on to get a Bachelor of Music at the University of North Texas. I have been performing professionally for over 18 years. I also have taught band for 11 years in Dallas ISD. I enjoy teaching and mentoring other up and coming musicians. It's a joy to see another world open up to them through music.
Through my warm and positive personality and experience as a certified music teacher and music ...
