Sharing the joy of music has been Renata's passion since childhood. She began studying piano at the age of 4 and has been performing since the age of 6. After graduating from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, Renata began teaching. She continued teaching, performing and accompanying while completing her Bachelor of Music from University of Toronto and her Masters of Music from Texas A&M, Commerce.

Renata has received numerous awards in solo and duo piano competitions. Her performances include solo and duo piano, chamber music and symphony orchestras, choirs and with vocalists and instrumentalists.

Being classically trained and a proficient sight reader, this has enabled Renata to play a variety of styles of music and accompany vocalists and instrumentalists and be able to play and teach from a lead sheet.

I'm a professional composer, teacher, and pianist - and I like to keep active doing all three throughout my community. My piano and composition lessons are very in-depth, but also very flexible. Because of my thorough knowledge and experience with music, I can teach all ages, skill levels, and an array of important subjects - including piano, ear-training, music theory, improvisation, composition, creativity, music history, ethnomusicology, and percussion. Growing up in the northwest with its vibrant music scene allowed Kareem the opportunity to study with, listen to and perform with world class jazz artists residing in the area. Artists such as Tracy Knoop, Jay Thomas, Don Lanphere, Bill Ramsay, Hadley Caliman, Julian Priester and many others had a large impact on Kareem early in his musical education. I have a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and completed Advanced Training at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in NYC. This was my first instrument and will always have a special place in my studio. I studied the Suzuki method but also fiddled around — to the delight of my grandfather, a lover of folk and fiddle music, who constantly requested that I play him the "Orange Blossom Special". (I believe a loving, listening ear can be important for any musician. As a performer, I still take requests.)

Pianist, Rian D., holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Washington State University where he graduated at the top of his class. I have been playing / studying the drum set for over 23 years. I have taken lessons from some of the best teachers on the West Coast and brought the best of their knowledge into my lessons. I have been teaching kids at the Rock School in Seattle for the last 10 years as well as teaching privately for ages 10 and up. Some of the groups I've played / recorded with are: Atma, Kiss Her For The Kid, Leanne Wilkins, Carrie Akre, and Stereo Sons.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Contemporary Vocal Performance at the University of Colorado Denver in 2009. I graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) and won the Outstanding Graduate award from the College of Arts & Media. I even sang the National Anthem at my own graduation, in front of thousands of other graduates and their families, an honor usually reserved for faculty.
