I hold my Bachelor's degree in Music from William Jewell College (Liberty, MO); my Master's degree, in Church Music, is from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Kansas City, MO). Although my primary instrument is viola, I have also studied violin, guitar, piano, music theory, and voice. I am classically trained, yet I can also play jazz, fiddle, Celtic, pop/rock, and contemporary Christian music.

Born in Sherevport, Louisiana, raised in South Kansas City, Mo, Rick C. has been performing music for over 15 years. When he was younger, Rick used to make mischief guitars out of coffee cans and rubber bands, until his Grandmother bought him a nylon string guitar at age 7. Influenced my local Blues, R&B, and Gospel musicians, Rick try to play anywhere a kid on the south side of Kansas City could. As an adolescent, Rick took lessons from Guitar Master Mike Maynard. After graduating Ruskin High with a 4.0 GPA and music scholarships, Rick expand his education into Avila College and UMKC in Music theory and Jazz Studies. Rick also got his name as a sideman playing with many local and regional Blues, Rnb, and Reggae Acts, such as Az-one, Brian Kennedy (R&B), and Matt Ward and Random Tuesday (Blues). Experience:
After graduation I taught private piano lessons, elementary music (K-3rd), elementary choir (3-6th grade) and junior high choir for two years at Calvary Baptist Christian School in Watertown, Wisconsin.
After my first child was born, I stopped teaching music classes and choir, but have kept up teaching piano lessons for the last 7 years since quitting teaching full time. I have taught students as young as Kindergarten up to adults and enjoy the unique challenges and abilities that each age group brings.
I am a pianist at my local church and have also been judge for piano competitions at the MidAmerica Association of Christian Schools for the last 6 years.
I am generally a more laid back teacher - I want the experience to be an enjoyment to the student, not another stress or item to check off a list. Music should be an enriching and relaxing part of life...

Heidi is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She recently finished a Master of Music in Voice Performance at Wichita State University where she studied under Dr. Paul Smith. Heidi received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the prestigious Luther College in 2010 under the tutelage of Dr. Andrew Whitfield. Heidi has performed numerous roles, including Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring), First Lady (Die Zauberflote), and Adele (cover, Die Fledermaus). Throughout her academic career, Heidi placed multiple times in various NATS competitions. She has also received numerous scholarships and grants, including a Luther College Music Scholarship and a graduate teaching assistantship at WSU. Heidi plans to relocate to Germany in order to continue her pursuit of an operatic career.

I studied piano, composition and music technology at KCKCC, where I played in the jazz band and jazz ensemble. I've taught at two local stores and, for the bulk of my career, gave recitals at least once per year. For years, I sent students to MAMA (Mid-America Music Association) and had an approximate 90% trophy win rate.

From the time I began musical training at the age of 5, I knew that music making would always be an important part of my life. It became my muse and I followed it all around the world. I have performed in Japan, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Austria, and the United States.

I taught in several of the States and in London. I am also a certified teacher in Missouri, Kansas and other States including England, Scotland and Wales. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate from Ball State University, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport.

Dan is a teacher and guitarist from Kansas City, KS. As a teenager he studied blues and jazz with former B.B. King sideman Dwight Foster. This background aided him when he took classes in jazz improvisation and music composition at the University of Kansas. At KU, he started giving guitar lessons and teaching English Literature to help pay tuition. He also joined the blues-rock/metal hybrid Inphobic, a group that went on to play with Carlos Santana, Everlast, and Cheap Trick among others.

After finishing his MA at Pittsburg State University, he returned to Kansas City and began teaching in the Kansas City, KS school district. His five years of high school teaching (to go along with another three at the college level) has showed him that being a great teacher is both the greatest challenge and the greatest reward. As a result, he has dedicated himself to combining that passion for teaching with his love for the guitar and music.

Hi! My name is Megan. I am a Wichita State graduate with a degree in music education. I have taught mandolin/guitar lessons for the past 5 years in Wichita, KS and in the KC area. I am also a music sub for several public school districts on the Kansas side of Kansas City. Besides teaching music, I have also played mandolin/guitar for several music projects from a typical Irish band to a free improve jazz ensemble. I am a very versatile player so I can teach/play from Irish to rock to jazz.

David picked up the guitar when he moved from his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona in 2001 at the age of 19 and hasn’t looked back since. 7 years and countless hours of practicing, performing and teaching later, David plays at multiple venues in the Kansas City area while teaching from his studio at Guitar Source in Overland Park,, Southland Conservatory in Raymore, and in home tutoring service Mobile Music Teachers. David also teaches and records from his home studio in Raytown, MO where he offers lessons for home schoolers during the daytime hours.

As a guitarist David is motivated primarily by his passion for music. Growing up he was influenced by classical, jazz, and film scores. I love music and I enjoy helping my students to share the fun and enjoyment of making music. I am a very patient teacher and have a good sense of humor. My experience includes over 25 years of teaching private singing and piano lessons as well as school music and choral directing of students of all ages

I have Bachelor and Master degrees in Vocal Performance with minor in piano. I especially enjoy teaching Broadway singing, but also teach country, classical and pop. In piano I teach all types. I have several former students that are pursuing musical careers in performance and teaching.

I recently graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Music Education (vocal emphasis) and a trumpet performance minor. I am currently in the process of obtaining a Masters in Vocal Pedagogy. RIght now I teaching K-8 General music and 5-8th grade band and Chorus.
