About Me
I had the good fortune to study trumpet with two of the greatest trumpet teachers of the 20th Century. I combine the methods learned form Vincent Cichowicz (Chicago Symphony) and Gilbert Johnson (Principal Trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra) with the latest learning theory and technology to help students at all stages of development become superior players.
I have more than 40 years of professional performing experience, including 23 years as Co-Principal Trumpet of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra (bankrupt in 2003). I continue to perform and am currently Principal Solo Cornet with the Orchid City Brass Band.
I hold degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Illinois-Urbana. I was a Ph.D. Candidate and Graduate Assistant at The University of Miami, where I performed as Solo Cornet in the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Frederick Fennell. In 2008 I became a National Board Certified Teacher.
I have been a tenured teacher in...
