I made my Broadway debut with the original cast of Disney & Cameron Mackintosh’s hit musical Mary Poppins and became Broadway's second Mary, flying over the heads and into the hearts of Broadway audiences for over 100 performances.  I left that production to join the original cast of the highly acclaimed Broadway revival of Ragtime.  

I continue to cross the country representing Walt Disney Productions in national concert appearances. I have also has appeared on The Today Show, The View, the 2007 Tony Awards Show, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I have sung for the annual Broadway on Broadway Concert in Times Square, Broadway Sings for Toys and the Fred Ebb Awards.   Recently, I was seen at The Maltz Jupiter Theatre as Hope in Anything Goes, and in the title role of the musical, Gypsy, in the premiere production of the new North Shore Music Theatre, as Mary Poppins in the  televised 2010 IKEA Thanksgiving Day Parade and the 2011 Walt Disney World Christmas...

As a Music Teacher, my strengths are Patience, Experience and Encouragement. I am a Father of 4 and have had the joy in teaching them Guitar, Saxophone, Basic Theory and more. I have taught at Columbia College Chicago and at School of Rock (NYC/NJ). I currently teach children and young adults how to make simple musical instruments at The Friends of The Family Day Care Center in Mutuchen, NJ as well as producing Creative Sound Workshops at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and various Sound Art Festivals.

A lifelong musician and songwriter, Ian S has extensive experience teaching guitar and piano to students age 3 and up both as a private music instructor and as a teacher at the Institute of Music for Children. With 25 years experience in guitar and piano, Ian has studied and performed with several award-winning music artists, and has written and recorded over one hundred songs. He plays and teaches a variety of styles on both the guitar and the piano, from classical to jazz to rock. Ian is patient, friendly, and loves sharing the gift of music.

Ian was the guitarist in the Princeton University Jazz Ensemble for 3 seasons, was selected from a nationwide pool of musicians to perform at a special music event at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and was the recipient of the New Jersey Governor's Award in Arts Education for the category of Instrumental Music.

Music has been part of my life since the age of three. My first inspiration was my mother, who was a working singer in the 70's. My second inspiration and mentor was my High School Music Teacher, Mr. Wynn, and I am grateful for all he has taught me. I am passionate about teaching and would like to have the opportunity to be as inspirational to my students as Mr. Wynne was to me. As you can see from my resume below, I have been very active in performing and teaching. At the age of 37, I feel even stronger that the choice I made to make MUSIC my career was the absolute correct one. I believe in the Bible principle that it is better to give than to receive. Teaching is a major facet of music that allows me to do this.

Music has been a part of my life since before I can remember, going back to the days of pots and pans until finally getting my first drum set at age 3. Despite taking piano and guitar lessons in middle school, I always wound up back at the drums. Throughout high school I was involved in as many music ensembles as possible: concert bands, jazz bands, madrigal and concert choirs, winter percussion ensemble, and marching band. I also played drums in a few local bands that ranged in many styles: rock, jazz, latin, punk and ska. Amidst all these groups, I studied all four years as well with my band director/renown drummer, Ed Argenziano, one on one, fine tuning my fundamentals and building the proper habits and tendencies that have stuck with me to this day. I went onto Rutgers University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Music in 2007. I am a freelance violinist residing in New York. A New York native, I attended the Pre-College Division of the Manhattan School of Music. I am also a graduate of New York University, where I completed my Bachelor of Music degree in String Performance. Originally from Toms River, NJ, Matthew is an educator and freelance musician in the Tri-State area. Matthew received a bachelors degree in music education from The Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University) and is completing his masters degree in music performance at New York University.

Matt has studied piano since the age of seven, covering both classical and jazz/pop genres. While at Rutgers, he played with graduate-level Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Opera Orchestra. He has played with various orchestras in Avery Fischer Hall, Symphony Space, NJPAC, and the Kimmel Center (Philadelphia). He has studied with leaders in oboe performance (Matthew Sullivan, Jonathan Blumenfeld, Nathan Hughes, Geoffrey Burgess) as well as classical and jazz pianists (Karina Bruk, Andy Milne).
