Gregory H. Astoria, NY

The difference between knowing how to play something and performing live begins with how you practice and prepare.

About Gregory

As a younger brother at the age of five, I began studying the piano because my older sister did. After my foundation in music strengthened I fell in love with the trumpet. At first, each note took time to develop and I enjoyed the challenge. The trumpet allowed me to travel all over the Southeast later in life and even to China with a 1940's Radio Show. I enjoyed many top-level bands the kindled my love and passion for good music. I want to share that kindling with my students in a nurturing and guiding situation, just like my teachers gave me. I used to go to lessons and become so motivated and inspired that I thought I could change the world. I always knew that I would want to give back exactly that. As my performance opportunities grew into venues like Churchill ...

Thomas has a great level of patience for students new to music lessons. He has a very enthusiastic approach to each lesson that he teaches. I truly enjoy how he is able to share his passion for music, often relating piano to other musical instruments during lessons.
Since I am someone very new to the world of music, I look forward to continuing my lessons with Thomas with the hopes that I can grow as a musician. I highly recommend his talents as a teacher of music.
Jason T. Cambria Heights, NY

I offer my students 3 recitals a year in some very nice halls around New York, where they would get a chance to perform their music in front of an audience of friends and family.

Performing is a great way to see as a student what you do well and what you can improve in. Each performance gains a level of experience that can not be gain by just playing for yourself. Through this experience you will learn what it takes to get better as a musician.

I am a Senior at Five Towns College in Long Island going for a BA in Music Performance and soon to go on to get my Masters in Music Education at Lehman College in the Bronx. I'm a Vocal major with a minor in piano. I've been studying music for the past 9 years. Someday my dream is to be a Private Instructor in Atlanta, GA and on the side I dream of singing Jazz in cabarets, cafe's etc. As a singer, I've been trained both classically with a lot of background in theater and jazz, and as a pianist, classically, reading music and etc, although i have a background teaching jazz such as reading chords and etc. I am an extremely dorky, funny and confident person. I love making my students feel comfortable and confident with what they want to accomplish. ...
