Drum, Piano, Music Theory, Percussion
my first drum lesson was the best gift I ever received. I was so very fortunate because if not for these drum lessons as a beginner I would not be the professional performer and teacher that I am today. Taking one on one private lessons for five years prepared me for college and beyond. Even more so, taught me what it takes to be a great teacher.
I went on to earn a BM in Jazz studies at the University of North Florida. While majoring in the drum set I also studied piano and percussion. After graduating I’ve been able to work professionally in many settings and musical genres, including jazz, rock, pop, reggae, R & B, hip hop, gospel, blues, funk and soul, folk and blue grass, Latin, middle eastern, and other world music. These experiences lend me to have an open minded and all encompassing view of the potential and possibilities of music. I have been fortunate to share my knowledge and experience to many students. I began teaching six years ago and have had students of all ages and ability levels in both drum set and piano.
Whether you’re a beginner who would like to establish a great foundation, an intermediate player who wants to take it to the next level, or an advanced player who needs a new perspective or deeper focus, I am the devoted teacher you have been looking for.

What is more important than my conservatory education and my teaching and performance experiences is my passion for teaching music and my undying belief that anyone can learn to sing, play piano, and read music. I'm a graduate of the prestigious Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey and a winner of its merit scholarship. After performing with the New York and Royal Philharmonics, the New Jersey and Virginia Symphonies, the American Boy Choir and the internationally renowned opera star, Andrea Bocelli, studying opera and piano at Westminster Choir College and performance art and improvisational acting at East Carolina University in North Carolina, and appearing in shows and pageants across the east coast, I found my life's work in 2003 when I began teaching music. I've successfully taught hundreds of different students since 2003, from 5-year-old with special needs, to middle-aged professional opera singers, to 65-year-old doctors of music. I've created and led a workshop about singing called, "The Whole Body Singer". My extensive knowledge of the voice has encouraged and enriched hundreds of singers and prepared many to win competitions, musicals, pageants and auditions. Having both taught myself piano and received formal training at a conservatory has prepared me to teach almost anyone how to play. The intensive training and education that I received at Westminster Choir College in songwriting, music theory and sigh-treading has benefited my students at every level.

Hello. I am so excited and delighted to be your piano teacher at Takelessons.com. I can't wait to teach you how to become good and skilled piano players! It is truly a great privilege for me to teach you the skills to make a good musical foundation . One should be able to learn theory and methods easily with me. However, it is interesting to note that as my student you can develop your own artistry and technique as well. These are what I hope to deliver as your teacher ---help you learn the theory, skills, technique and method in a fun and casual environment! Remember ... our goal is to learn as much as we can in every lesson and try to throw any questions you might have during the class. It will be greatly appreciated. To let you know more about myself, at age 5, I started playing the piano and went on to finishing Piano Pedagogy from Saint Louis Music Center and B.S. Mass Communications from Saint Louis University . My career as a music educator started when I taught piano at the Yamaha School of Music. Ten years of classical training me has helped me attain this rewarding career. As a child, I have had the opportunity to be a “finale” performer and an accompanist to many choral groups in school. My musical experiences also include performing in “Café Vasilici”, San Leandro , California , where I can play all styles especially classical music. The ability to sight read is just one of the many endowments I can teach. Others include, an impeccable love for music and a good ear for music.
