Musicians think, learn, and create in many different ways. Some are visual learners, preferring to learn by studying diagrams and reading notes. Others learn intuitively, simply by listening, imitating, and then creating. My objective is to find the learning style which works best for each of my students. I can help you set up musical goals, and then use your preferred learning style to help you achieve those goals.

For the past three years, I've been a full time entertainer at a dueling piano bar. That's been the most fun because I get to play all kinds of music and I get to play my favorite instruments; piano, guitar, bass and drums.
I have also performed in a variety of bands over the years, from rock to Doo Wop. When I'm not performing music I'm usually writing or recording it in my studio. I have a variety of professional software and hardware tools that I use for recording.
I have been a professional bassist for my entire adult life (and some of my childhood, too!) and I know what it takes to be successful. Hello! I'm Shannon, and I would love to teach you about music! I have an extensive musical background in both performance and education. I attended George Mason University and the world renowned College of Music at the University of North Texas. I am also an award winning bassist and singer, having performed at such venues as the Kennedy Center, Blues Alley, Rams Head Tavern, and more. I specialize in teaching contemporary styles (pop, rock, jazz, musical theater, etc.). I have taught many successful young vocalists and instrumentalists and believe in a positive, fun, confidence building approach. My students learn music theory, warm ups, and technique in conjunction with songs so they can apply musical concepts in a practical way.
