My name is Beau. The bass guitar is a great passion of mine and I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with others. I am eager to teach as well as continue my own personal journey as a musician. Initially self-taught, I attended McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN where I earned a degree in Bass Performance studying under Terry Burns, Gary Raynor, Jay Young, Jeff Bailey, and Charles Fletcher.

I have been performing professionally in various original and cover/variety/wedding bands for over 6 years. I also have extensive studio performance experience constructing and recording bass lines of many different styles. I also play in the local original band, The Fontanelles.

I am the weekly bass player for the contemporary and traditional worship services at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and have also played bass in musical productions of Footloose and Godspell. People know me for being passionate, energetic, patient, and friendly.

I’ve learned much from my students in the more than 35 years that I’ve been teaching flute. My Bachelors in flute performance and music education and my Master’s in flute performance have given me the expertise I need to teach, but my students have provided the practical experiences necessary for me to be successful. Every student has something in particular that motivates them to learn an instrument and it is up to the teacher to build on that motivation. I use a variety of materials individually suited to each person, young or old, amateur or professional. I have performance experiences as a soloist, in a small symphony orchestra and in various small ensembles. My students have found careers as teachers, music therapists, and performers. Many of the students who haven’t chosen music as a vocation have continued to play their flutes even after their lessons have finished and have then encouraged their children to learn an instrument.

I began taking piano lessons on a whim in middle school, but it didn't take long before I realized I was completely in love with music. I enjoy playing and teaching many types of music, from classical to rock to hymns and church music. I learned to play by ear at the same time I learned to sight read, and both approaches have helped me to learn and enjoy the music I play.

I graduated in December 2010 with a BA in Music Performance from North Central University, here in the Twin Cities. I have been teaching piano lessons for the last 6 years, as well as directing a children's choir. Watching other people learn to play music is one of the greatest rewards I've received.

As I child I had an early interest in music, dancing and creative things. I took piano lessons and excelled at my chosen instrument, the flute, in band at school. I continued with my music training at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Education in 1992. I worked for 11 years in my profession in various settings before I took a break to start my family. My experience includes teaching students in classroom general music, choir, band, piano lessons, and school plays/musicals. I spent six years at a private school (grades K-8), three years at a charter elementary school and 2 years at a public elementary school. Also, since graduating in 1992 I have spent a total of 16 years teaching private lessons both at Hovland Conservatory of Music and in my home. I have been playing drums for over 10 years. Over the years I have studied with some of the top drummers and percussionists in the country, including Gordy Knutson, Dave Stanoch, Shai Hayo, Dana Murrey, Dave Schmalenberger, and Marv Dahlgren. In 2008 I attended McNally Smith College of Music and received my AAS degree in music performance in 2010. Since then I have worked as a professional drummer in multiple groups including The Sugar Benders, Blammity Blam and Maiden Dixie, all the while teaching private drum lessons to students of all ages. I have designed, built, and now run my own professional recording studio, "The Black Lagoon," which has recorded artists from Chicago to Utah. There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing people set, chase, and achieve their goals. Let me help you achieve yours.

Originally from the Milwaukee area, drummer David K. began learning the drumset when he was 12. He took lessons from the beginning and didn't stop until he graduated from college with a Bachelors degree in Music; with an emphasis on Recording Technology. After college David started teaching drum and percussion lessons. He also performed and ran sound for bands in south-eastern Wisconsin. In 2001, David moved to the Twin Cities, where he has been performing, recording and releasing albums with various bands.
He teaches drums out of his in-home recording studio.

I was born and raised in Iowa City, IA. I started playing guitar when I was seven years old. I was able to meet one of my biggest idols, at the time, Johnny Lang. He really inspired me and told me if I kept playing, maybe we'd play together someday. I knew then that it was what I wanted to do. I continued to take lessons and play guitar whenever I could as I grew up. By the time I was in high school, I had played in the pit bands for events such as the show choir and musical, and I played in a rock band with my brother. We played around in the Iowa City area a lot. I also began teaching private lessons for beginning students when I was a junior in high school where I taught for 3 years. After High School, I decided to go to school for music. I wanted to make playing guitar my life, so I moved to Saint Paul, MN and began my bachelor's degree in guitar performance. Music has always been a big part of my life. Performing and recording electric guitar and bass guitar with several bands for over ten years. Toured as lead guitarist with original band for 3 years. Produced & engineered songs for different local artists. I have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages since 2007. I am also a music teacher in early childhood education, currently teaching at several preschools in the twin cities. In 2011 I also started teaching a series of music classes as a part of the music therapy program at Minnesota Veterans Homes.

I am an energetic and dedicated teacher who has been guiding students through the process of discovering their voice for over six years. I believe that everyone has the capacity to sing, and that each instrument is special and unique. The primary goal of my instruction will always be to teach healthy vocal habits that allow that individual’s true voice to shine through with ease and enjoyment. Singing is an extremely challenging but also very rewarding activity that can be a blessing throughout one’s lifetime.

I have dedicated my life to the art of singing, and have had extensive performing experience. Most recently, I have portrayed Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Lulu in Elmer Gantry, First Lady and Papagena from The Magic Flute, Laurey in Oklahoma and appeared as a guest soloist for Bach’s Cantata 43. These experiences give me valuable insight into the challenges of performing; lessons that I am eager to share with my students.

Adam is a cold hard rocker from the great state of Alaska. While playing in the hometown rock phenomenon, Spasm, Adam got his taste for a real rock crowd and this fueled his passion for the bass. In his musical career, Adam has played with national artists such as Steve Turee (Saturday Night Live Band) and other touring members of N’SYNC, New Kids on the Block, Steve Miller Band, Atmosphere and Poison. He has also worked with GRAMMY award winning producers and song writters. In his spare time, Adam works as a session player in the Twin Cities, playing on everything from Victoria’s Secret commercials to Christmas jingles.

I'm a nice guy. I'm working to be a musician in the world. Its not glorious, but its what I love. Music is my passion, its been such a huge part of my life, even before it became my career, that I truly believe that everyone can benefit from learning an instrument.

Nathan holds degrees in voice performance from Northwestern College and Denver University. Since the completion of his Master’s he has performed with the professional male vocal ensemble Cantus, performed in Guthrie Theater’s nationally broadcast H.M.S. Pinafore, and participated in several productions with Minnesota Opera. Nathan enjoys helping students develop their voices, whether for musical theater, opera, or their own compositions. Nathan is passionate about communicating the elements of good vocal technique in a way that makes sense to each student. Besides performing and teaching, Nathan loves collaborating with fellow musicians to produce concert programs and new works.
