Hello. My name is Michael and I have been passionate about music since I was a very young. When I became a teenager I started taking guitar lessons and as soon as I could play a few chords, I joined a heavy metal band. I spent endless hours honing my craft to play fast and tight with other members. I have recorded original music several times. I still enjoy playing heavy music to this day but now I have expanded my interests to blues,folk, and acoustic variations. I still perform weekly in various bands. I have been playing for over twenty years and have over four years of teaching experience for beginner and intermediate level guitar students of all ages.

Jason began playing guitar 20 years ago at the age of 13. Jason has two degrees in music. A Associates of the Arts degree in classical guitar from County College of Morris and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from New York University. Jason began teaching guitar at the age of 17! He has been teaching ever since. To go a long with a busy roster of guitar, bass, and theory students Jason also performs live and does a lot of recording session work. For over 20 years, Barry has been active working as a producer, engineer, composer, arranger and musician, now working primarily in his home recording studio, Barry Hartglass Digital. Barry received a bachelor of music degree in Music Engineering Technology from the University of Miami, studied composition at the Juilliard School and also music for film at NYU. Barry plays 5 string electric bass, 5 string fretless bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, synthesizers, soprano saxophone and various hand percussion. Barry draws on his diverse background performing and recording on multiple instruments in numerous styles to provide a stimulating and creative experience for the student.

Student who takes lessons with me has a chance to expand his knowledge by learn necessary technique and elements of music which I have studied in college. I am glad and willing to share my knowledge of music as well as research different genres and styles of music.

I've made my career as a performing musician and teacher for many years. I've enjoyed touring the Northeast U.S. and also the U.K. What fun it's been meeting different people and experiencing their love of music! My band specializes in rock, blues, and originals, too. There's even a little jazz influence, coming from my years of private study, most recently with Ms. Leni Stern, an extraordinary professor of music at NYU. I love to keep an open mind with my students regarding playing styles and approaches to learning, and I'll encourage you to do the same! Individuality is your number one asset, I want to help you become the best you can be.

Jason received his Bachelor of Music from UMKC Music Conservatory and went on to receive his Masters Degree in Music Performance at the Rudi E Scheidt School of Music where he studied with Lily Afshar. Jason has won several competitions including the "Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Competition" and has performed at various festivals including the Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston, South Carolina. He currently received an Artist Diploma from SUNY Purchase with Frederic Hand. Jason is passionate about teaching guitar to all ages. He has received Suzuki guitar training at the Frank Longay Conservatory of Guitar and is qualified to teach the method to children as young as three years old and older.
Jason is equally as proficient in Rock/Metal as he is in Classical and World music styles. He has studied rock music at various institutes such as the "National Guitar Workshop" in New Milford Connecticut.

I started playing guitar at age 11, taking lessons at the local music studio in Hackensack, NJ. I became heavily influenced by The Beatles after hearing their music and as a teenager played in local rock groups, having some success being in the bands Jona's Ark and The Yorkshire Pudding, opening for artists Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, John Mayall and backing up Gary U.S. Bonds. I started playing piano at 19 when I took a group piano class in college. I attended Berklee College of Music and studied guitar with Bill Leavitt and Pat Metheny. That's where I started learning about all the great jazz artists from Duke Ellington to Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and Wes Montgomery to name a few. While at Berklee I also developed a love of the classical guitar and it's repertoire.
