Now introducing the Epic Music Mastery Game! A full fledged competition between yourself and other students where you can earn experience points, level up, win prizes, learn and advance your skills in the process!
Dear aspiring singers (pianists see below): I firmly believe that with the right training, anyone can sing! We all have the instrument built-in after all! Are you tone deaf? I can fix that. Crack on high notes? I can fix that. Nasal? Hoarse? Can't hold long notes? All of these are common vocal problems that can be easily be solved through guidance and practice. Trust me, no one ever regretted taking voice lessons!
For my piano friends: How often do you sit down at a piano and wish you could just place your hands on the piano and magically create beautiful music? Piano is a challenging skill, but certainly not impossible. Learning to play the piano, even if it's never mastered, is such an incredible joy. Learning piano helps you to improve so many other skills as well, such as singing, any other instrument, and even math!
About Me: After completing my Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at North Park University in Chicago, I moved here to NYC in 2010 to pursue my loves of music, acting, and education. Currently, I work as a Teaching Artist through Wingspan Arts, act in short films, and sing in concerts, operas, and musical theater productions around the city. I have been teaching acting, modeling, voice, and piano to children and adults of all ages for the last seven years. My goal is to professionally fuse my passion for music, theater, and education while continuing to learn, grow, and share the beauty and magic of the arts with others.
In my free time I enjoy movies, Broadway shows, cooking, and exploring all the delicious wonders New York City has to offer! I miss Chicago pizza, but NYC sure knows its way around a cupcake!

I maintain very active performing and teaching careers. I have private voice studios on Long Island and in Manhattan and have taught singers and pianists in every genre of music for the last 23 years.
I was on the faculty of New York University in the Music and Music Professions Department for 5 years and was Music Director and Vocal Coach for an innovative new rap opera, "Odin" in Spring 2006 at the Fred Lowe Theatre. I was a coach in the Banff Centre's 'Voice through body and movement' workshop with international artist, Richard Armstrong and served two years as a voice instructor and guest lecturer at the Banff Centre for their young artist training program entitled 'Opera as Theatre'.
Throughout my career as a vocal coach, I have worked with many cabaret artists as musical director, arranger and accompanist. Most notably, Debbie Boily's "Thank You for the Music"a one woman show with me at the piano, recorded live at Ovations in June 2004 Houston, Texas and subsequently performed in France, England and New York. Most recently, I recorded an opera with Jazz legend Anthony Braxton and an all Jazz CD with Fred Ho. I have recorded operas in progress for Atlantic Records and new works of composers on the BMI label.
As a perfomer I won the prestigious Jessie award for "outstanding performance by an actor in a leading role" for my creation of the Marquis in "120 Songs for the Marquis de Sade" in the world premiere co-produced by Modern Baroque Opera and Vancouver New Music. My international debut was in Sweden, singing the lead role of Director in "Kafka's Chimp" by Welsh composer, John Metcalf. Originally from Hawaii I now reside in New York where I garden and raise chickens.

Hello! I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music, with a Bachelor’s degree in Writing and Production. I am attending NYU as a graduate student at Steinhardt. I have been teaching privately for over ten years, and performing for over 20!
My first love is piano, as I began lessons at age 7. I wrote my first song at age 8 and started playing guitar the next year. I am an accomplished songwriter, arranger, producer, performer, teacher and director. I recently moved here from Boston where I was the Music Director at All Souls Church in Braintree, MA and performed jazz/blues, funk, and kid's music. I love teaching and excel at finding unique ways to teach music and keep it interesting! I want you to have fun and learn what you find most interesting so we will work together to reach your goals.
Along with instrument and vocal lessons, I offer tutoring in all subjects of music and songwriting, and specialize in offering lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I refuse to hand out a book and go from front to back - expect handouts, impromptu lesson material to help you learn any specific concept you may be struggling with, CD’s with study material, exploratory homework, and thinking outside the box! We will do whatever it takes to get you wherever you want to be.
