About Me

I have an associates degree in music and I have been teaching lessons for more than five years now. I also have two years experience as a substitute teacher. As a substitute, I have taught all grades, all subjects, and I have helped out many kinds of students each with their own way of learning.

Besides teaching, I love learning too. Anytime I have a question I immediately start seeking out the answer. Learning never stops!

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons will be very informative. I have a lot of information to get out all the time. Don't be surprised if something I show you blows your mind. I also like to have fun and I'm sure my students do too. There won't be a boring lesson from me.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide my acoustic guitar, picks, and tuner and that's really all they need as well. If they do not have an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar with an amplifier is also fine.

I'll occasionally bring my laptop with me to use some music software to assist in my lessons.

I'll always have pens and paper so I can make notes or diagrams if needed.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in many musical genres including rock, ska, punk, progressive, jazz, folk, and more.

About Me

I've been playing and writing music since the age of 5. It all started with a little piano my mother got me from the dollar store. It came with a song that I learned and mastered very quickly. Ever since then, I have been learning as much as I can about music. In middle school, I picked up the trumpet and played it throughout middle and high school. It is always a goal of mine to be the best I can be, so I stayed first chair for the majority of my tenure. At the age of 15, I started to play the guitar. With that as a growing interest, I became determined to join a band. I had a few friends in a band already, and all they needed was a bass player. So, I picked up the bass in order to join. I've been in several other bands of all different types of music ranging from original hard rock/metal to an all cover band with over one hundred songs in the repertoire. I started teaching at Guitar Center in June of 2013, and absolutely loved it! I had many students fighting to get time slots with me, so at one time, I had over 50 students during a week. I have classical training at the University of Houston.

Music is not the only subject I can teach, though. I have studied a wide range of subjects at the University of Houston. These subjects include: Reading, Writing (general), writing (technical), math (up to calculus), History (the U.S. from 1500 to present and World History), poetry (critical analysis), U.S. Government, Test Taking and Study Habits, Basic Chemistry, Basic Geology, World Geography, and Public Speaking.
