My name is Cara R., I'm 22, a recent college graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. Flute was my main instrument, but i also play piano too. I've played flute for 12 years and piano for 7. This is my first time teaching, but my dream job would be to teach lessons from my home. I love music and I absolutely love teaching anyone who is interested to learn about it! From the basics to the notes on the staff, to the circle of fifths and complicated theory, i would love to teach all aspects of music. If you're a beginner, or you've been playing for a few years, we can find where you are and get you started right away! If you have a specific genre you like most, i.e. romantic or classical, we can spend a lot of time in that period! I hope you will give me a chance :)

Hello! I am currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University, where I am pursuing a Master Degree in Trombone Performance. I study Trombone with Peter Sullivan of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Prior to moving to Pittsburgh in the Summer of 2011, I was studying Music Education at Youngstown State University.

I have a great love of performing in many different styles and venues, from Symphony Orchestras to Drum and Bugle Corps, to Jazz Big Bands. I am a former member of the World Class Drum and Bugle Corps, Phantom Regiment, and was in the group as a Euphonium player when we won the DCI 2008 World Championship with our Award Winning Show, "Spartacus". Other performance includes the CMU Philharmonic, Greenville Symphony Orchestra, Pierre Monteux Festival Orchestra, Dana Jazz Ensemble, Dana Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Wagon Wheel Theater Orchestra.

Though I've lived in Pittsburgh my whole life, I've found and played music all over the country! I'm a highly trained classical violinist who's spent the last many years looking into the alternative sides to the violin and since graduating from Pittsburgh's well respected CAPA, I've been bringing that knowledge and fun into Pittsburgh's live music scene.

I love all kinds of music and think that the violin could have a place in any genre, as long as the player remembers that it's always supposed to be fun! I grew up around Atlanta, GA and started playing piano when I was around 7 years old and bass when I was 11. Most of my education has been on the upright bass. I've studied classical bass performance at major music schools on the east coast and in the midwest. I've studied and worked with musicians from many of the great orchestras around the world.

I enjoy working with students who are just coming to the bass or piano for the first time and getting them started with music in a rewarding way as well as more advanced students that need finer musical direction or audition coaching.

Hi! I am a classically trained pianist originally from Syracuse, NY. I graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA where I studied piano under Professor Alec Chien. I also enjoyed playing the French horn and percussion with the Allegheny Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.

I have performed numerous piano solo recitals, as a featured pianist with the Allegheny Wind Ensemble, in piano duos, a piano quartet, small instrumental groups and in the pit orchestra for musical productions.
