About Gregory

My passion is teaching! I could search my whole life, and never find anything I enjoy doing more. You could call it my "calling," for lack of a better term. That's probably why I've been so successful in my career. I've taught students as young as 4 years old, and students who are in retirement.
The success I've had, comes with years of taking private lessons, performing, studying, and always keeping an open mind to new ideas, and relating my experience with all my students.

Kate P. Chicago, IL

About Kate

Growing up, I participated in every musical activity I could find: from choir to handbells, concert bands to jazz bands, and marching bands to rock bands. I love performing different types of music, but I decided to focus on classical clarinet performance in college. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2007 with a B.M. in Clarinet Performance. I also continued studying piano as a minor instrument at UIUC. Since then, I have revisited some of my former favorite pastimes: I teach handchime classes in schools, play in a rock band, and work for a jazz-oriented music/tutoring program.

Since graduating, I have performed several memorable concerts with highly skilled ensembles such as the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic and Wheaton Municipal Band. CJP is a one of a kind ...

Very professional and excellent teacher

My experience with Kate was nothing but positive. Always enthusiastic, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable. I stopped lessons due to an injury and not anything to do with Kate and I hope to re-up my lessons with her some time on the near future. She comes highly recommended.
Eric M. Villa Park, IL

Piano is my main instrument. I studied everything from Chopin to Duke Ellington to Buena Vista Social Club. I teach any style.

About Eric

I am a professional musician who enjoys helping young people reach their musical goals. I perform regularly as a solo act and play with a band at various hotels in Chicago. I went to Millikin University in Decatur for music where I toured the country and played and sang in the top ensembles. Seasoned piano teacher with 10 years of experience; works in classical, rock, and jazz styles. I make piano FUN and ADDICTIVE for students! I enjoy working with all ages and can accommodate a wide range of tastes from Beethoven to Adele.

About David

Originally from Indiana, David has been teaching music in both the private and public school sectors for 12 years. Getting his start as a drumline instructor with only 4 students, David soon expanded his teaching to include both guitar and piano, which he studied under Frank Puzzulo (of Miles Davis' group) at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Upon graduating Ball State, David moved to Colorado to study jazz and classical music with Dr. Douglas Walter, an accomplished percussionist who is known for his versatility and multiple percussion talents. He also studied piano and guitar in his off time, jamming with several rock and jazz groups both in and out of school.

In 2006, David left the college scene with a Masters in Music and moved to Florida where he began his ...

David is great working with my 8 year old daughter. He is very patient, friendly, and outgoing. He quickly adapted to her specific needs and skill level since she has already had some lessons, instead of trying to start her all over from square one. Highly recommended!

David is hilarious, truthful, and extremely encouraging when it comes to piano! He doesn't tell me I'm doing great if I'm not in fear of getting a bad review (haha) ...he's great and takes moments to correct me if I'm doing something wrong. He's genuine and a great great teacher!! I guess I would recommend him. NOT. OF COURSE I WOULD!

Kent D. Lombard, IL

I only teach what I love, so you can know that I will bring enthusiasm to every lesson. We will work together to find the methods that work best for you. My goal is for you to find joy in learning. I have a lovely Story and Clark upright piano in the home. I also have a large selection of music, textbooks, and learning materials to assist in teaching. See pictures! To start out, we will work with whatever lesson materials you have. As we develop a teaching plan based on your needs, we can make a decision together on what additional materials will be helpful. For your learning, just about any keyboard or piano will do. I started out on a small keyboard with just a few octaves of keys because that is all that we could afford. You do not have to have a Steinway to enjoy learning.

About Kent

I am a graduate of Kansas State University and I am currently attending dental school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove. I have experience tutoring biology at the college level, and worked for two years as a teaching assistant. I love spending my free time learning everything I can about science, politics, and even appropriate grammar.

I have seven years of experience teaching piano to students ranging from 4 to 54 years of age. I knew when I was three that I wanted to play piano, and I love teaching others so that they can experience the same joy that I feel when I sit down to play. I started playing organ at the age of 14, and was playing for my church congregation by 16. In addition to my own recitals and competitions, I have played for a number of church and school choirs, ...
