Nick comes from a family of four generations of music in the GREEK/Balkan repertoire. He graduated from Columbia College of Chicago with a concentration in Music Composition in December of 2009. Currently teaching and performing professionally, Nick enjoys all styles of music, but has been declared as an "old soul" by many of his friends. He enjoys playing lots of Motown, funk, and jazz, but is proficient in Classical, Rock, and Blues as well. When not playing music (rarely), he is a Board member for the GivingBackPack Foundation which provides school supplies to underprivileged children. Nick's dedication to education is shown through his music and his personal volunteer hours, he feels his diverse background gives his students an advantage to a broader perspective of music and theory.

I have been playing the bass guitar for 21 years. I have played for Jazz Bands, Big Bands, Quartets, and Churches. The songs that I have played range from Jazz, Funk, Rock, Ska, Gospel, Straight Jazz, Latin, R&B, Pop, and Blues.

I played Music in High School and in College. Though I am more comfortable with the bass guitar, I can also play and teach lead guitar as well. I have been playing the lead guitar for 10 years. I have taught many beginner students how to play both bass and guitar throughout my music career. Many have moved on to become professional bass players.

I enjoy teaching anyone how to play - playing is what I love and teaching others to be able to play like me or better is a passion of mine. I strongly believe that if you are willing to learn you will be a successful guitarist once our lessons are over.

I've always loved to sing from my earliest remembrance along with a love for the piano and a desire to play. I attended Academy of Our Lady - High School where I took four years of piano as well as vocal instruction. I performed with a group called The Madrigals as a 'high soprano' during those years. I further attended Wheaton College, attained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music. I was educated musically through Wheaton's Conservatory of Music. I have been around music since before I could walk. I learned how to play the piano from my mom, who still teaches and is always giving me new ideas on how to communicate challenging aspects to students. I was fortunate to continue my piano learning from a college professor when I was ten. Laura Peterson continued teaching me how to practice and play proficiently throughout the next seven years of my life. I participated in talent competitions, and in high school earned two scholarships for college. While in college, Dr. Kauffman taught me how to play with feeling, and to enjoy the music I played as well. I also learned from him about teaching. His methods really gave the student ownership of their music, and inspired me to deeper understanding of music. I have been teaching piano to students of all ages for the past 20 years. I studied piano at St. Bonaventure University under Laura Peterson. I have accompanied many in talent shows, and competitions. I presently play the piano at our church.
I have taught students that have gone on to higher learning in piano. Some of my students have competed in nationwide festivals and placed well. They have entered local and statewide contests. They placed well in their categories.
I believe that each student should have goals for their talent. I want to work with the student's goal to achieve their very best. I believe each student is a unique individual who will become a performer according to the practice that they put into it

I started my journey with singing in high school by participating in the school musicals and different choir ensembles. When I got to college I started taking private lessons and music classes for fun until I realized this is my passion. Then I started my journey with really learning the voice as an instrument and how it works. I am a vocal scientist at heart believing you will go a long way as long as you know how to grow.

I then went on to get my degree at VanderCook College of Music where they teach nothing but music education so I was able to learn all the band and orchestral instruments on top regular classes and voice lessons. I took the time to study privately with our percussion professor to learn rhythms and with our sight singing and ear training professor to further develop my ear and knowledge. Hello, my name is Brian and I am currently studying my Bachelor's in Music Education at VanderCook College of Music. It is the only college in the world that specializes in specifically Music Education, and has been since 1909. The school teaches us a basic understanding of 17 instruments and voice, while also teaching theory, aural skills, music history, professional ed courses, and includes a large number of various ensembles. Mezzo Soprano, Andrea began her career in music at the age of five when she began accordion lessons. It was apparent at an early age that Andrea was a natural and not long after, she was entered into local, national, and international competitions. Andrea competed in organizations such as American Accordionists Association, International Couple Mondiale held in Hungary and Slovakia, and Grand Prix held In Geneva, Switzerland, to name a few.
After making a name for herself on the national and international scene, Andrea decided to further her music career by earning her Bachelor's in Music from Saint Xavier University, studying under Jan Bickel, DMA. Hi My name is Mary Kay I am a Music Education major at VanderCook College of Music. I am a trombone major and vocal minor. I've been singing for 16 years and playing Trombone for 15 years. I am very patient and I love to sing and play trombone, I love to teach. I've grown as a teacher through out my time here at school, and my passion for what I do grows deeper. I enjoy playing music every day , but also love to do photography , knitting, or crocheting.

Some other things I love to do besides music is photography, dancing, and knitting scarves for friends. I love going out to the zoo or little red school house and take pictures of nature.
