I have been performing on stage since I was 8 years old! My passion is performing and art in every form. I love to help people find their voice and build their confidence on stage and in the "real" world.

I am a trained vocalist, pianist, percussionist, dancer and actor. I have performed in venues all over the country and I have worked with LL Cool J and Mariah Carey.

With 15 years experiance playing bass and 2 years jazz study at the college level, I can teach students to learn songs of their choosing, from any genre, with proper technique. I can also teach students to understand the theory behind the music, so they can begin to develop their own approach and style.

I started playing at 9 years old in a public school band and jazz band on alto sax and guitar. Since then, I've received private lessons and studied at the Denver Guitar Institute. I've played in several bands and specialize in several styles and techniques including jazz, blues improvisation, solo technique, ear training and composition.

I just turned 49, and have been playing electric bass and guitar since I was 14. I graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 1985 with a Bachelors degree in classical guitar, and have been teaching guitar and electric bass for over 25 years. I'm an eclectic player who has studied and integrated many concepts from varying styles including classical, flamenco, jazz, blues, and rock, and I've developed a unique and highly effective teaching method that draws from and builds upon the CAGED system and other established successful methods. My approach to teaching emphasizes simultaneously learning musical concepts, knowledge and skills, and is a highly analytical approach that stresses simplifying, understanding, and mastering "the basics" of musical and instrument-specific knowledge and skills.
