I've been teaching guitar professionally since I've been 17 and I've taught a wide range of musicals styles from Jazz, Blues, Fusion, to Rock you name it. My first experience with the instrument was 8 years ago and since then I haven't put it down. Early on in my teaching career I found that it's important for students to have the drive to learn, but it's more important to have someone that can guide them in the right direction. I believe the role of a teacher is not only to instill that drive, but to fuel the fire of their imaginations through fun and effective exercises. I've had the pleasure of teaching students ranging from 5 to 60 years of age and have found that the fundamentals of playing are applied across the map.
I'm currently attending Columbia College of Chicago and I'll be receiving my bachelors in instrumental performance mid May. I've studied under some great players such as Frank Dawson, Harry Hmura, Chris Forte and currently studying under Peter Lerner.

Fred is a working professional musician that plays around 120 dates a year all over IL and WI with Bella Cain. In the band, Fred sings as a bass voice and plays electric & acoustic guitar/banjo. On some gigs he jumps on bass and even drums. As THE country band in the midwest, Bella Cain has recently performed along side such Nat'l acts as Brad Paisley, Bucky Covington, Lee Brice, Justin Moore, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert and Luke Bryan.
Besides Bella Cain, Fred also performs with his new acoustic duo, Voodoo Country, with Paul Hala. The group is a crowd pleasing, request taking, laid back show that covers pop, rock, and country hits.
Fred occasionally uses that jazz performance degree and plays straight ahead jazz gigs and jazz fusion gigs with some of the best musicians in Chicago. See the videos below for some inspired performances!

Currently serving as the Principal Educator at Rico Music and Art Center (RMAC) for the past two years. RMAC is a busy music center in Chicago at Six Corners (Cicero & Irving Park) where I teach private lessons and manage the day-to-day business. I inspire and motivate colleagues and students of all ages alike, to achieve our goals and seek higher levels of learning.
1. I am comfortable teaching private or group lessons for Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Violin, Music Performance, Music Theory, and Composition.
2. I have lifelong experience in the arts from private lessons, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and Columbia College Chicago. (B.A. in 2014)
3. My specialties are classical music and modern rock genres.
My recent history begins from my graduation from McBain Public High School in Michigan, where I received my diploma in 2005.
• 2005-2008 As soon as high school graduation was over, I was on tour almost non-stop with Deja Normal (Mike Mains and the Branches) Arescyn (Static Factory Records) playing the piano/bass/vocals and taking an intimate role with the song and lyric writing. Tens of thousands of miles traveled with hundreds of performances from the East coast to the West to play the smallest of venues tucked away in the woods of West Virginia to major music events such as Vans Warped Tour dates.
• 2008-2010 Left the touring road to start an event lighting company (Light it Up/ EDC Productions/GOBI Project), which lead me to Chicago where I ran my business efficiently, while still practicing music.
• 2010-2012 Ended my lighting business and became a part time student at Columbia College Chicago pursuing degrees in music composition and piano performance. By making new connections, I began teaching at RMAC and taking on creative music projects to compose music for student films. (Films are available upon request)
• 2013- Present I Now my repertoire includes Bach, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Debussy, and more. Studying with the masters of the field such as Columbia College Head of the Composition Dept. Dr. Marcos Balter, Dr. Ilya Levinson, University of Chicago Piano Performance Dr. Amy Briggs, and many others continue to share their great insight to the fine details of music and life.
I am very excited about my future in music within the educational realm, by the magnificent challenge that it provides. Hopefully, by sharing my perspective with my friends, colleagues, students, we can share the great feeling of accomplishment together.

My name is Justin, and I am a musician (big surprise). I have been playing the piano for the past 17 years and the trumpet for the past 12 years. My primary emphasis is jazz improvisation, but I have a solid foundation in classical repertoire as well as the basic fundamental techniques of the trumpet and the piano. I am originally from Fresno, California, but I currently reside in the Chicago area. I completed my B.A. in Trumpet Performance at California State University, Fresno in 2011. I also just recently completed my M.M. in Jazz Studies at Northwestern University in June of 2013. I have been performing extensively as a professional musician for the past 10+ years, and I have been teaching privately for the past 5+ years. The variety of musical genres that I perform is quite versatile, so I believe that I can accommodate the differing musical desires of all of my students. My mission is to help you discover who you are as a musician, which, in my opinion, has a strong connection with our personalities and how we interact with others.

Hi, my name is Voytek and I love music! I currently do over 200 shows a year and in addition to performing as a soloist, I play in 2 gigging ensembles. Thanks to music, I've been able to meet many incredible people and travel all over the world to Germany, New York, Switzerland, Washington DC and the Dominican Republic. My goal is to inspire my students and share with them my passion for music so they can also experience how wonderful and rewarding it really is. Let's rock some jams!
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
