About Arnell

I've always loved to sing from my earliest remembrance along with a love for the piano and a desire to play. I attended Academy of Our Lady - High School where I took four years of piano as well as vocal instruction. I performed with a group called The Madrigals as a 'high soprano' during those years. I further attended Wheaton College, attained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music. I was educated musically through Wheaton's Conservatory of Music. I studied piano, voice, theory, music history, music appreciation, and sight singing to name a few. I auditioned, performed, and traveled with the Women's Glee Club.
Since then, I served as the worship leader in church setting. I was responsible for music selection, accompaniment, and vocal coaching for our ...

Wow! What an experience.

Arnell is a brilliant instructor.she is motivating, exciting, fun,. creative and very informative.she is a miracle worker. Arnell has done wonders with our 3 children.before they started the piano and singing classes with Arnell, my husband and I realized that it would be very difficult and very challenging for our 8 year old son to learn the piano, seeing that he was diagnosed with a learning disability. to our amazement we were very pleased to see our child, our children reading musical notes and playing the piano fluently in such a very short time,it brought tears to our eyes. Yes my family is very blessed to have Arnell as a piano and singing instructor.

Great with young children!

My 8 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Arnell for a year and has truly flourished under her instruction. Ms. Arnell is patient and goes the extra mile to motivate her students. She never rushes the lesson and sends notes of encouragement to my daughter in between weekly classes which motivates her to practice at home. My daughter is very shy but after a year of lessons and her first recital her self esteem is noticeably on the rise! I recommend lessons from Ms. Arnell to anyone who wants to give their son or daughter the gift of music.
Chiang L. Chicago, IL

I teach students to be familiar with the keys and intervals and also hands position for the beginners. In my view, it is very important to sing notes and play the piano at the same time because it benefits key memorization and fosters a students' sense of music. With the piano, I believe that building the proper fundamentals sets the proper pace for future growth and musical interest.

About Chiang

I am a trumpet instructor with global experience and an approach to learning that is encompassing and fun for all ages. I was born in Taiwan and have studied in both Asia and the U.S., where I last earned my Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Students have described me as someone who is out going, someone who is laid back and fun and someone who likes to listen and communicate with my students. I have been teaching trumpet and piano since sophomore at college, in private one-on-one lessons or as a trumpet sectional coach at elementary schools or middle schools.

I believe that being an educator is about the communication and the relationship that exists between a teacher and a student. The art of being a good educator exists in the ...

I am taking piano class with Chiang since 3 months ago, starting from scratch. He has been very professional and knowledgeable, and in the meantime, being nice and forgiving (especially when I have no time to practice due to my work).

John is fun (and forgiving)

I haven't touched a piano since middle school, and while I was apprehensive going back to playing the piano, John made it rather fun and interesting. The first impression I had of John was how animated he was, and how much fun he has teaching and how much fun he wants you to have.

About Gregory

My passion is teaching! I could search my whole life, and never find anything I enjoy doing more. You could call it my "calling," for lack of a better term. That's probably why I've been so successful in my career. I've taught students as young as 4 years old, and students who are in retirement.
The success I've had, comes with years of taking private lessons, performing, studying, and always keeping an open mind to new ideas, and relating my experience with all my students.

*** Lesson Details ***
One of my first objectives, is to make a student enjoy each lesson. I believe that if a student feels comfortable, and has a great time learning, they're going to want to practice and learn more of the skills necessary to achieve their goals, and as a ...

About Kate

Growing up, I participated in every musical activity I could find: from choir to handbells, concert bands to jazz bands, and marching bands to rock bands. I love performing different types of music, but I decided to focus on classical clarinet performance in college. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2007 with a B.M. in Clarinet Performance. I also continued studying piano as a minor instrument at UIUC. Since then, I have revisited some of my former favorite pastimes: I teach handchime classes in schools, play in a rock band, and work for a jazz-oriented music/tutoring program.

Since graduating, I have performed several memorable concerts with highly skilled ensembles such as the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic and Wheaton Municipal Band. CJP is a one of a kind ...

Very professional and excellent teacher

My experience with Kate was nothing but positive. Always enthusiastic, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable. I stopped lessons due to an injury and not anything to do with Kate and I hope to re-up my lessons with her some time on the near future. She comes highly recommended.

Student will receive a music program tailored for their age, experience with piano, and goals. I determine the appropriate text and workbooks, supplies and exercises based on the results of my evaluation and discussions with the student if an adult or the parent if student is a minor. Students who play other instruments are given supporting instruction to enhance their skills and performance on all instruments if desired.

About Gwendolyn

I began playing the piano at the ripe old age of 3 on a toy piano I received for Christmas. My parents began my formal lessons the following Spring with a private teacher who stayed with me until I graduated from High School. I was awarded a four year scholarship to the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago by my church to continue my studies. I added Voice to my studies there. I went on to study Orchestration, Conducting and Theory at I.S.N.U., Drama at C.T.C. upon returning from I.S.N.U and began to develop my Production Company in the early 70's. Since then I have produced numerous productions showcasing the talents of young and old while I pursued my Corporate career in Administration. My private students range from 5 years to 87 years although currently I specialize ...

I studied at The Frederic Chopin Academy of music in Warsaw, Poland and then at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where I received a Bachelor of Music Degree in French Horn performance. Later I received a Master of Music in French Horn Performance and post Master Certificate, both from the DePaul University. I am an active freelancing musician in the Chicago area. I will second what Ravi wrote. My 5-yr old daughter had the same "first lesson" experience, and was excited to play twinkle twinkle for us when she got home.

The key to getting her hooked on piano is to make it fun, and Ania does just that.

Ania is flexible and professional, and her smile is infectious. I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter's talent develop under Ania's tutelage.

Anna has been a fantastic teacher for our 5 year old daughter. This was her first time learning to play a piano and Anna handled it with pure ease when she began the lesson with two funny monsters and finished it off with my daughter playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". A well thought introduction like this was bound to be a winner with a girl that age and she was hooked. Anna has been very accommodating in customizing the lessons to fit our child's personality so that it is a right mix of structured learning while simultaneously learning to play melodies that are familiar to a child her age. Anna is very amiable and yet professional in all her dealings with the client. My daughter looks forward to each lesson which is the ultimate testimony to the success of her piano lessons. I sincerely recommend Anna for all your piano leaning needs.
