"The lesson was great ,unfortunately at the moment I cant continue the lessons due to financial..."My house growing up was always loving and full of music. My parents bothed played instruments and both learned through different techniques. My mother had classical piano and saxaphone training, whereas, my dad picked up the guitar at an early age and taught himself to play very well. We also had a little chord organ that sparked my deep interest in sounds and the wonderful music that could be arranged wtih those sounds.
I began my musical career about 20 years ago when I began to take classical piano lessons with the late Shirley Newton. Throughout middle- and high school I was trained in the trumpet, coronet, french horn, and most brass instruments through the instruction of Mr. William Tony. For 3 years I played 1st chair trumpet and began to pick up on the family of stringed instruments with the guitar.
With the level of training I received with the other instruments and my natural "ear" for music, I began to teach myself guitar. I dove into guitar books to learn everything I could for the past 17 years. I teach, perform and write in many styles of guitar, including but not limited to, jazz, blues, pop, rock, classical, and R&B. Music is my passion and I love connecting with students who also love music, seeing a face light up because they understand a concept and can visualize it's potential.

Beginning students can expect to learn how I learned... By playing songs THEY want to play. Yes, there will be chords to learn and picking styles to grasp, but all of that can be accomplished by studying and and playing their favorite songs. There is a focus on proper handling, maintenance, stringing, and the like, but it is all done in fun. Intermediate and advanced students are welcome. My philosophy is that ANYONE can play the guitar. I look forward to teaching on a one-on-one basis with both the "rockers" and the technical students, so if you or your child love music or are looking for the discipline that comes with playing music I would love to be that teacher that motivates and inspires that child for greatness.
