Now introducing the Epic Music Mastery Game! A full fledged competition between yourself and other students where you can earn experience points, level up, win prizes, learn and advance your skills in the process!
Dear aspiring singers (pianists see below): I firmly believe that with the right training, anyone can sing! We all have the instrument built-in after all! Are you tone deaf? I can fix that. Crack on high notes? I can fix that. Nasal? Hoarse? Can't hold long notes? All of these are common vocal problems that can be easily be solved through guidance and practice. Trust me, no one ever regretted taking voice lessons!
For my piano friends: How often do you sit down at a piano and wish you could just place your hands on the piano and magically create beautiful music? Piano is a challenging skill, but certainly not impossible. Learning to play the piano, even if it's never mastered, is such an incredible joy. Learning piano helps you to improve so many other skills as well, such as singing, any other instrument, and even math!
About Me: After completing my Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at North Park University in Chicago, I moved here to NYC in 2010 to pursue my loves of music, acting, and education. Currently, I work as a Teaching Artist through Wingspan Arts, act in short films, and sing in concerts, operas, and musical theater productions around the city. I have been teaching acting, modeling, voice, and piano to children and adults of all ages for the last seven years. My goal is to professionally fuse my passion for music, theater, and education while continuing to learn, grow, and share the beauty and magic of the arts with others.
In my free time I enjoy movies, Broadway shows, cooking, and exploring all the delicious wonders New York City has to offer! I miss Chicago pizza, but NYC sure knows its way around a cupcake!

Wisconsin cultured in 1983, I was born to a family of teachers and artists. In 1989, I started the Suzuki piano method, which I continued until 2001. As well, I sang high tenor in a barbershop choir, played organ and piano at my Catholic church and was interested in stage acting and musical theatre. But In 1996, my obsession with woodwinds was sparked by discovering my dad's alto saxophone. In 2001, I graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in jazz saxophone and piano performance. I then went on to graduate Western Michigan University(BM,‘05) and the New England Conservatory(MM,‘08) for degrees in Jazz Studies.
I currently live in Astoria, NY (Queens), and have a conveniently located studio space available for lessons. I've been active as a performing and recording musician in NYC since 2008, and am enjoying learning more and more about music production. Instrumentally, I enjoy performing and recording on a plethora of instruments: saxophones, clarinets, flutes, piano and keyboards, and vocals. I am a member of several active bands in the jazz and indi-rock scenes: Dapp Theory, Zodiac Ensemble, and my own band, Education Reform.
I've performed at the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival in NYC, the Toronto Jazz Festival, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, the Oslo Jazz Festival, Chelsea Music Festival ('12), and the Beantown, San Francisco and Halifax Jazz Festivals. I've performed at the Chopin Festival in Luxembourg and and the Festival de la Medina in Tunisia. In my spare time, I like to learn new recipes and practice yoga.
