About Me
Hello there! My name is Vanessa and I am a guitarist, songwriter and singer with a great deal of passion and love for music. I was recently chosen as Portland Maine's 2011 Best Folk Act in the Portland Phoenix.
Since I was five years old, I have been studying music from piano, to saxophone, clarinet to guitar. I have dedicated the past ten years to touring nationally, recording and producing three albums of original music and developing skills as a musician, performer and teacher. I have facilitated songwriting workshops at a number of national conferences, as well as taught guitar to a range of students from ages 8 to 60.
For me, music is not only a career and passion, but a universal language. Through performances and workshops, I have had the privilege to witness the ways in which music can transform hearts, minds and spaces when shared.
