My musical education started at age 9 with weekly violin lessons, which continued until my parents finally gave in and let me play the clarinet 3 years later. Everyone has to start somewhere. In high school, I was introduced to the saxophone, which would become my primary instrument throughout my life.

Hello! I am a professional music educator in the Philadelphia, PA area. I graduated magna cum laude from Mansfield University, with a bachelor's degree in Music Education and hold a master's degree in Flute Performance from the University of Connecticut. I have taught all ages of students, from pre-K to adult, a wide variety of instruments. I am a member of MENC (The National Association for Music Education) and Sigma Alpha Iota (Professional International Music Fraternity for Women). In addition to music, I love animals. Currently we have 2 cats, a turtle, and a red iguana that all put up with my practicing and lessons quite well (or they just hide under the bed).

I've been playing and loving music for well more than half a century, now. I got started in second grade when my grandpa brought home a little violin one day, and I've been at it ever since. I was fortunate to take lessons for more than ten years with Carita Page, a teacher who was very warm, encouraging, and caring. I do my best to pass that on to my students in addition to the technique of playing and the theory of music, fascinating as those are.

I feel that playing in groups is very valuable experience for students and gives you a side of music that private lessons alone cannot. I encourage students to look for opportunities to do that. To help provide those opportunities I organized the Cranbury Scout Band, one of very few continuously-operating Scout bands in the country, which I have directed for more that ten years now. I've also been on the staff of several Jamboree Scout bands.

Gregg has been involved in music for almost his entire life. He began with the saxophone in middle school, where he took lessons and played in the school band, orchestra, and jazz band. He was interested in many other instruments at the time; piano and clarinet lessons shortly followed, but he did not develop his skills on guitar until much later. In seventh and eighth grade, Gregg was accepted into the Region II Intermediate Band, an intercollegiate ensemble for middle school students, where he performed tenor saxophone both years.

In high school, Gregg participated in the freshman Concert Band (tenor sax), Symphonic Band (tenor sax sophomore year, bassoon senior year), Wind Ensemble (tenor sax junior and senior years), and the Marching Band (tenor sax freshman and junior years, baritone sax sophomore year). Samantha started taking piano lessons at age 3 from her mother, who was also a music teacher. She played piano continuously through school, and also learned to play clarinet, guitar, flute, trumpet and sax, often playing different instruments in her school's band. She also learned the violin and cello all before graduating high school and starting college. She started teaching younger students while she was still in High school.

She attended Pensacola Christian College in Florida and majored in Piano Performance under the watchful eye of Mr. Daniel Nagy from Brazil. She transferred to Clearwater Christian College, also in FL, her Junior year to study with Dr. Craig Ralston. There she graduated with a BS in Music.
