I began playing guitar when I was 12 years old and never looked back. Music has always been a part of my life and I love sharing that joy with others.
I started singing at church and in school, in various choirs and ensembles. I attended college on a Vocal Scholarship and majored in Music/Education for 2 years. I've also sung in a gospel trio for years.
I started playing in bands when I was in high school and played out for several years as the lead-singer/lead-guitarist.
Piano was actually my first instrument and I'd recommend piano lessons to anyone who wants to get a grasp of music theory. I moved onto guitar from there and couldn't put it down.
Later I played bass guitar in church and in my recordings at home. I'm very drawn to stringed instruments, so I tried mandolin and the dulcimer and picked them up pretty well. I've always had good rhythm, so percussion (drums, bongos, etc.) just came naturally.
And singing is something I love to do almost as much as playing...

I have been a teacher in private practice for 20 years. I have a wide range of experience with singers of all styles and age groups with a variety of goals and skills. I sang with a professional jazz octet for a number of years while maintaining my practice, have taught various master classes, musically directed various musicals, have sung background vocals and played piano on various recordings. I studied vocal and piano performance at Murray State University and studied privately through my adult singing and teaching career.

Hi! My name is Angela, and I teach private piano, voice, and theory lessons. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Lindenwood University, a Master's degree in Music Theory from Washington University, and am certified to teach music to all levels in the state of Missouri. I hope to continue on to the Doctorate level, and my ultimate goal is to teach music theory in a University. I love teaching, and have taught many ages (4 to 90) and ability levels (novice to advanced). I am a dependable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic teacher.

My musical journey began at the age of seven, when my mother enrolled me in piano lessons. I have been playing ever since, and love it. I have directed the youth praise & worship team and directed the kids choir Christmas musicals at my church. I have helped many of my students prepare for auditions, such as Muny Kids, school musical auditions, college music auditions, etc. Many of my students have gone on to study either music education or performance in college.

I have taught many violin students in the elementary through high school years. I have also had adult students who have wanted to learn a new instrument in their adult years.

I hold a bachelor's degree in performance piano from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I was a James Scholar and Mortar Board member..

Composer and guitarist David began formal music training at the age of 5 on the drums. He taught himself guitar as a teenager and began playing in local rock bands. Initially entering college as a Journalism major, his passion for music led him to Meramec College where he studied Music Theory with Robert C. Howard and classical guitar with Larry Bolles. From 1990 through 1993, he attended Webster University, and became only the second composer in the school's history to receive the BM/MM Scholarship. While at Webster, he studied composition with Dr. Kendall Stallings, Robert Chamberlin, and Kim Portnoy, Jazz History with Paul Demarinis, and 18th Century Counterpoint with Dr. Eloise Jarvis. During his education, he performed with many student ensembles and sat in on master classes by the great sitarist and surbaharist, Imrat Khan and jazz guitarist Peter Leitch.
