I have my Bachelors and Masters in Vocal Performance from Baylor University, as well as a Performance Diploma from Indiana University. I have sung opera and recitals around the country, and currently have an active vocal studio in South East Houston. I am classically trained and teach all of my lessons from a strong classical background, whether you are singing opera, musical theater, or pop.

"Niqui" is more than just a pretty face, She has been singing since the age of 4 in the church choir. So its no wonder that sometime later she would show up as a support vocalist for Artists such as Micah Stampley, Kim Burell, Kurt Carr, Juanita Bynum and so many more award winning artists. Self-taught vocalists of her caliber don't come around too often which has afforded her the opportunity to travel around the world doing what she loves best being a vocalist.

Not too long ago, I got married in LA and moved to Houston TX to study with the great violin pedagogue - Paul Kantor who teaches at Rice University. I am really loving Houston so far. Everyone seems so nice around here!

During my journey with the guitar I have had a chance to study with virtuoso players such as Paul Gilbert, Chris Broderick, Dan Gilbert, and some of the top guitarists and musicians in the business. I have recorded with Doug Pinnick from Kings X and have played with one of the biggest Christian bands in Los Angeles playing for thousands of people as a member of "Press Play."

In addition, I hold a degree from one of the best contemporary guitar schools in the world. At Musicians institute I had a wonderful opportunity to study and play with some of the best teachers and students learning every style of music. I've been drumming for over seven years, starting with a percussion background in the school band. Since moving to the drumset I continue to open up to new styles and instruments galore, the combinations and options for studying never end. :) I am currently studying jazz and Latin music among other things related to music so I can show the foundations to playing these styles while I delve further and further into it myself. I have been teaching for two years already but consider myself a student and a teacher and I believe students help the teacher just as much as I will be helping you, so I look forward to our lessons!

I started playing music at the age of 3. Hailing from a long line of musicians, my first musical experiences were vocal performance & the
drum set. In junior high, I expanded my skill set to the piano. My skills were honed & perfected in the Latin Jazz/Pop super-group ‘Soulsa Caliente’. I later organized my own multi-genre band and performed in various venues throughout the city of Houston, TX & southern regions of the U.S.

My summer months were spent participating and teaching in the Diaz Music Institute’s Latin Jazz Workshop conducted annually by Jose Antonio Diaz, Horace Young, Noe Marmolejo & other great musical heavyweights. My diligence, focus, and perfectionism began to shine before I even graduated from high school.
