Singing, Acting, Broadway Singing, Music Theory, Speaking Voice
I recently graduated with a BFA in Acting from the theatre program at Syracuse University (SU). During my time there, I studied at the Globe Theatre in London, in addition to spending a semester taking classes with Broadway and TV/Film Casting agents in New York City. I've done a few musicals in regional theatres in New York. And currently, I am a working actor in and around the city of Chicago. I have experience music directing, directing, choreographing, and teaching acting and voice throughout the year for an elementary/middle school theatre program called Bravo Performing Arts Academy in Oak Park, IL as well as Marquee Youth Theatre in St. Charles, IL. In the fall/winter, I music direct and teach private voice lessons for an adult a cappella group in Chicago. I studied voice, music theory, piano, acting, and dance within the SU theatre program and have been teaching for over 7 years. In addition, I taught music and theatre to special needs adults for all four years of college.

I received a MM in voice performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University in 2009 and since then I have been performing and teaching in the Chicagoland area. I am also involved with multiple opera outreach companies that brings condensed adaptations of operas to elementary school throughout the midwest because I am very passionate about introducing kids to classical music at an early age. But aside from opera I feel comfortable teaching all genres of music and believe that you can sing anything if you are grounded in a healthy singing technique. I also have experience teaching piano, drama and musical theater. And I love working with kids!

I am a singer/songwriter based out of Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2008 with a degree in Vocal Performance and Theatre, I began performing on Cruise Ships with some fellow IU Straight No Chaser alums. I then switched over to perform as a solo guitarist/vocalist onboard the ships for 4 years. My dad was the choir director at our church for 30 years, which is where I got my start, and eventually I took over the youth choir programs and directed 3 choirs grades K-12. While my focus in college was classical vocal training, I was raised on musical theatre, and now write pop music. I believe there is a proper way to sing, and it can be applied to any and all voice styles. I have conducted seminars through Hart and Henry Talent Agency to help singers cross from more traditional musical theatre styles to the more current pop/rock musicals that are taking broadway by storm. I love to work with the students to achieve the goals set forth, and enjoy this wonderful gift of music!

I love everything about teaching! I love music; it is my life. I sleep, breathe and dream music. I am a Columbia University Chicago graduate; I graduated with a degree in Music with a concentration in Classical Voice. I have performed in numerous operas and musicals, as well as, sung on Gospel Cruises all around the world. In my eyes, the student is the main focus so whatever issues, concerns or request the student may have I will treat them with priority. I am all about strengthening the natural born talent and making my students the best vocalist they can be. I'm here to serve the students and that is what I will do until they are confident in their gift...music.
