About Me

I began playing guitar about 15 years ago and have made music an integral part of my life since Day 1. While working towards my degree in Music Composition at U.C. Riverside, I began teaching as a means to earn extra money. After graduating in 2007, I began teaching full time. Over the past several years I have professionally released 2 full length records and 1 E.P., have toured the U.S., New Zealand and Australia, was featured in AllMusic Guide (in which my album received a 4 star rating), have performed at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX on 2 separate occasions, and have licensed songs to MTV, VH1 and Universal Pictures. Though gigging, writing and recording keeps me busy, teaching has remained the one constant, and nothing brings me greater satisfaction than sharing the joy of music with my students.

Hello there, my name is Jason H. and I am here to give quality lessons to eager people. I have 20 years of hands on experience that I can offer my students and I am more than happy to do so. I have spanned across the entire musical spectrum regarding styles and I have been in front and behind the scenes of the music industry. I am also a husband and a father, so I can relate to boys, girls, young and old! I have been playing drums since I was 8 years old, recording since I was 16 and running a sound production company since I was 22. Other interests of mine are History, Hockey, Baseball, (I still play both when I have time) Hiking, Bike riding, Videography, Teaching and Parenting.

About Me

I taught myself how to play piano at the age of 17, and at 18 I taught myself how to play the guitar. Over the last 5 years I have learned everything from music theory to composition to songwriting and recording. I know what it means when students say "I'm too old to learn", well I'm here to tell you that, that is not the case. In music, as long as there is passion, the artist in you will become alive and help you achieve whatever your goal may be in music. I am here to help you realize not only your playing potential, but guide you into not just becoming a guitar player, piano player, but a musician. I am able to teach Piano, Guitar, Music recording from software/hardware to MIDI, including Sonar, Reason, and related software.

About Me

I am a guitarist, composer and teacher specializing in classical guitar and Latin American music. I have loved music for all of my life and my primary expression of that love is playing guitar. I currently teach private guitar lessons, lecture at San Bernardino Valley College and work as a freelance performer in the Inland Empire and greater Los Angeles area.

I began my study of music at the age of thirteen when I taught myself how to play folk, rock and blues guitar. Though, to be honest, I didn't just teach myself. I had many friends who played guitar who would show me songs or correct mistakes in the songs I had learned from the internet. I remember thinking that music had a special ability to bring people together, and I became determined to understand what exactly it was that gave music that power. About Me

Born in Culver City, CA and originally from the Los Angeles County. My brother inspired me to become a musician where I decided I wanted to become a drummer. I joined my high school's marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, winter drumline and played in a rock band called Differential Pitch.
Once attending CSU Polytechnic Pomona as a Music major with an emphasis in Music Industry Studies in 2005. Under the teachings of Bill Schilt I was to learn how to play the congas and improve on my drum techniques. I enrolled in my department's concert band and Salsa band. While I was in these groups I met Lyrically Twisted and I was asked to play for him. We formed Lyrically Twisted and the New Generation Band. I had the opportunity to also play with Albert Picon and his Salsa band, the Jazz Steamers, and the M.U.S.E club band, performed with Jess Navarette, an amazing guitarist and songwriter, and joined the Voyager Project.

I have been studying music, Digital Recording and Synthesizers for over twenty-five years now.

From Classical Music (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven ) to Jazz Music ( Pat Metheny, Allan Holdsworth, Brazilian Music - Jazz).

Electronic music (synthesizer-Keyboards, effects), Programming and experimental music.

Also Digital Music using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) for recording and editing.

Compositions and arrangements for Video game and TV Scoring.
Audio Pre and Post -production (sound design and sound effects) for Video -Game.
I have performed critical roles both live and in the studio with some of today's most popular artists including; Rique Pantoja, Julio Figueroa (drummer for BB King, Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Andrea Bocelli), Marco Tulio (Sheryl Crow , Janet Jackson, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger,WILL & GRACE"), and others.
