Nathaniel has been a performer, composer and educator for over 10 years. He has been asked to perform in concert halls, music festivals, jazz clubs, fine restaurants, state fairs,art galleries and musical theater's throughout the Midwest and front range. He performs genres as varied as early renaissance to the most modern avant-garde jazz and art music.
In 2001 he began teaching when he was asked to lead and direct a student ensemble. At this time he also began giving private lessons in piano, guitar and music theory. Nathaniel passes his passion for music on to his students, leading them to develop in excellence and enjoyment of the wonderful art of musicianship.

I'm a professional composer, teacher, and pianist - and I like to keep active doing all three throughout my community. My piano and composition lessons are very in-depth, but also very flexible. Because of my thorough knowledge and experience with music, I can teach all ages, skill levels, and an array of important subjects - including piano, ear-training, music theory, improvisation, composition, creativity, music history, ethnomusicology, and percussion. A native of the Pacific Northwest, saxophonist Kareem K is a performer, composer, and educator, who is in high demand for his talents both on and off the stage.

Growing up in the northwest with its vibrant music scene allowed Kareem the opportunity to study with, listen to and perform with world class jazz artists residing in the area. Artists such as Tracy Knoop, Jay Thomas, Don Lanphere, Bill Ramsay, Hadley Caliman, Julian Priester and many others had a large impact on Kareem early in his musical education. Pianist, Rian D., holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Washington State University where he graduated at the top of his class. During his time at WSU he was a recipient of the prestigious Presser Scholarship, which is awarded to college students based on academic merit and performance experience. He also placed in numerous local and regional piano and chamber music competitions, including finishing as a finalist in the Washington-Idaho Symphony Young Artist Competition and performing as a soloist with the orchestra.

My name is Zarni and I am a recent graduate from the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors in Music Education and Songwriting. During my time at Berklee I received two scholarships, The Korg Endowed for Early Childhood Education and the Scott Benson Scholarship, the highest award given for Songwriting. Most recently I won Most Promising Music Educator Award in the Choral department, an award given by the Dean of the Berklee College of Music.

I have taught in several different environments. I taught for two years at the West End Boys and Girls Club (an after school program for teens ages 10-18) as a vocal and piano teacher. For me, having parents of different ethnicities and siblings that were much older than me, I was heavily impacted by the wide variety of music to which my family members listened. The force of this crayon box of rhythms and sounds captivated and affected me so much that it is the key experience that I draw from in making my own music today.

I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska (a small town in the center of the state) so my only option for entertainment and fun was getting involved in the arts! I started performing at a very young age as both a dancer and a musician. I studied classical ballet, modern dance, hip hop and street dance, and world dance traditions throughout my formative years, which helped me to gain rhythmical fluency. I was classically trained from ages 6-16, while teaching myself guitar, drums, songwriting, and vocals on the side. Learning about the "why" and "how" behind the piano (i.e. Music Theory) while I was in college brought about the musical freedom I am so passionate about showing students. In addition, learning drums by imitation and by ear really rounded out my piano training, which is why I use more than just a single "method" or only teaching the student how to read music well.

I believe music is for everyone, and every student I have will see my enthusiasm for making and learning music. I am currently completing my Master of Music degree in Brass Performance (Trumpet) at the University of Washington. My primary teachers are David Gordon (principal trumpet of the Seattle Symphony), Allen Vizzutti (internationally acclaimed trumpet star), and Dr. Kathryn Aducci (Baroque trumpet specialist). I am pursuing trumpet performance at this level so I can be a role model for my students (whether they play piano, trumpet, or want to study music theory/performance). Julia began playing the trumpet at age 11 in her middle school band. She found her real passion was singing, so she began training with a voice coach, playing piano, and performing in musical theatre productions.

In 2004 Julia entered the School of Music and Theatre Arts at Washington State University. She studied voice and piano and was an avid performer in the WSU Library Atrium Recital Series. She was cast in 6 productions of the school's Opera Workshop Series including "Jane Eyre," "Naughty Marietta" and "Der Freitschutz."
