During my freshman year at The University of Notre Dame, I joined a group called Bandlink. The purpose of Bandlink was to go into the local catholic elementary and middle schools to give private wind lessons for free. We taught fourth through eighth graders and I was started with a fourth grade saxophonist. As the semester progressed and I watched not only the improvement of him but of all of the other kids that I came to truly understand the importance of one on one lessons. When a director position came open in the spring I quickly applied for it and won the job. For the next three years, I expanded the program by creating a solo and ensemble festival, making it an university sponsored club and improving the retention rate of kids coming back after their first and second year. I increased the rentention rate but revamping the program to include Music Appreciation. Hi! My name is Allison and I'm an opera singer. I fell madly in love with music and singing as a young child and was bitten by the opera bug at age 15. Ever since seeing that first opera, I've never looked back. I did lead roles in my high school musicals, then got my Bachelor of Music and my Master of Music degrees in Classical Voice and Opera Performance both from competitive conservatories. Ever since graduation, I've been lucky enough to make my work as a professional singer. I've traveled all over the country and even internationally bringing this amazing art form to audiences. Now I feel like my dream has come true because I get to do what I love: sing! Pavarotti said, "I think a life in music is a life beautifully spent and this is what I have devoted my life to." I feel so lucky to have a life in music and now I want to share everything I've learned with you.

My students are always shown that playing the drums are downright fun. Every time I sit at the kit, I still feel like a little kid who finally gets to hit 'those big things on the stage,' and that enthusiasm is imparted to everyone I teach. Music encompasses all aspects of art: expression (improvisation), entertainment (performance), craftsmanship (technical skill), and enjoyment (having fun). Nobody should miss out on any of these, and a positive attitude helps students be eager to work hard and achieve their goals.

In 6 years of intense degree work, I earned my B.M. and M.M. from two of the most highly acclaimed jazz programs in the world, Oberlin Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music. Studying with living legends has given me not only information but perspective on music, something not many receive. History and knowledge of the music and the instrument are strengths of mine, and they are balanced with correct technique that transfers to any style.

I am a classical singer and pianist from Wisconsin! I started playing music at the age of three on the piano and starting taking voice lessons when I was 15. When I was in graduate school in Las Vegas I started teaching both voice and piano lessons and found how much I loved imparting my knowledge to others and watching them make progress.

I have performed leading roles in Operas and soloed in orchestral concerts. I mainly perform opera and classical but love musical theatre as well. My performing experience has taught me a lot which I am eager to pass on to my students! I moved to New York City three months ago but I had a studio of around 35 students in Las Vegas both voice and piano.

Matt's love for guitar and music began like many guitarists, when he first heard the sound of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and many other classic rock guitarists. He immediately picked up the guitar and began learning as many songs by these icons as possible. Eventually he heard the likes of jazz guitar greats Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery and his love of music changed forever. Since then, Matt has combined his love of jazz and classic rock into a passion for all music throughout his career as a performer and educator.

As a teacher, Matt began as a tutor of guitar, jazz improvisation, music theory, and ear-training at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Music Education, I also hold a performance certificate from AMDA in New York City. I have several years teaching experience in beginning piano and voice. I taught elementary music as well as high school chorus in North Carolina.

I was born into a musical family in New York City in 1987. I began to study piano at age 6. While in high school, I began devoting more time to the piano, under the guidance a teacher who really helped shape my playing and inspired my teaching methods. I decided during college to pursue a career as a musician. I attended Skidmore College, majoring in music, where I was awarded the Louis Edgar Johns Outstanding Pianist Award. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in music, studying piano with Pola Baytelman and Richard Hihn. During the spring of 2008, I had the fortunate experience of studying abroad in Paris. In addition to the intensive study of French language and culture, I studied piano and composition at the École Normale de Musique. Hi, my name is Patrick. I've studied piano since age 10 (classical, and more recently jazz) and even at that age I would write my own songs and compositions. I started studying music theory in high school 6 years ago. This has informed my study of composition, as well as every instrumental practice undertaken since that time. 5 years ago I took my banjo to Sarah Lawrence College and started learning to play. I quickly joined the school's Bluegrass Ensemble, which fast-tracked my practice and enhanced my understanding of the idiom. My compositions, arrangements, and performances have appeared in theatre productions (Hartford Stage, Manhattan Theatre Source), several student films and dance pieces, and at music venues in New York (Carnegie Hall, Goodbye Blue Monday). For the past year I've been working with children at the Sarah Lawrence Early Childhood Center, and most recently at MoonSoup, an early childhood center in midtown Manhattan.

Some professional highlights include singing for the Philadelphia Phillies, participation in a major network TV singing competition, membership in AGMA & Equity through many performances, and sharing the stage with some of the most well respected names in the music business. After graduating from Ithaca College with degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education I spent three years teaching music in public schools. During that time I taught Kindergarten - 4th grade, as a long term substitute, and then 6th - 8th Grade Chorus to 430 students. During my time teaching my program grew at a rate of 30% annually compared to the band and orchestra who struggled to gain 5%. I attribute this success to my style of teaching which is accessible to everyone.

No matter the age, I will find out about what you are interested in besides music and use that as a hook to help you understand what's going on in our lessons. Although I am tough, because I want you to get the most out of your time, I am positive and love to laugh.

New York city based guitarist and composer Juan C. immigrated to Miami, Florida at age 21.
His work speaks a unique language that blends elements from his early musical experiences in Colombia, as a member of various folk, rock (metal ) ensembles, and his studies in East Asian music fuelled by travels and interaction with musicians and artists in China and Japan.

Juan’s music has been performed throughout South America, the United States and Asia. Although Juan cannot return to his native Colombia, his string duet, “Famous Librarians” (commissioned by Olivia de Prato and Victor Lowrie, was premiered at the Medellín Conservatory of Music.) His piece for electric bass and keyboard, “Glue Pain Ghost,” a collaboration with video artist, Jane Hsu, was invited to a world premiere at the GEISAI Art festival in Tokyo, and the Art Basel festival in Miami.
