I have taught private music lessons for over 6 years. I have been involved in music for over 12 years. I joined my first band playing bass at the age of 13, soon moving into my high school marching band, orchestra, and jazz band. I attended both Los Angeles Valley College studying music as well as California State University Northridge obtaining a degree in Film/Television composition. I have experience writing both songs and scores for documentaries, short films, and animations. I have a wide knowledge of many different musical styles and genres including: classical, jazz, rock, funk, pop, etc. I currently perform with two groups including a Sunday morning church group.

Teaching and making music is my greatest passion. Coming from a family of musicians, music was an inevitable part of my life. I began my training at the age of seven. Growing up, I performed with several youth orchestras, was concertmaster of my school orchestras, was a featured soloist on several occasions, and was the recipient of many prizes and awards from various music competitions. I had the privilege of studying with some incredible teachers, who inspired me to make teaching and performing my profession. I am a New England Conservatory graduate, employed for the last decade as the feature pianist at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Ryan started his music with piano lessons at age four while lending his vocal talents in the recording booth for his musician/writer/ arranger father, Rick. Ryan was playing in piano recitals by age six, segued from keyboards to drums at age 14, and was subsequently accepted into the University of California, Santa Barbara percussion program after high school.

While an undergraduate at UCSB, Ryan spent three years as the principal timpanist for the UCSB Symphony and five years as timpanist with the UCSB Wind Ensemble. While most 5 year olds were singing along to silly songs, I was entranced by the tribal drumming in the Michael Jackson's "Will you be there". When most Junior High student were listening to, well, whatever made them "cool", I was thinking of what John Lennon meant in his lyrics for "Strawberry Fields Forever." Writing my first song at the age of 7, the creative fire began to use music to express what no other form of communication could. Struggling with the limitations of my vocal abilities at the age of 16, I decided to intensify my study of the voice, taking hundreds of private lessons in such techniques as Bel Canto Vocal Technique, Speech Level Singing(TM), Progressive Vocal Techniques(TM), and others, as well as reading dozens of books and hundreds of research articles on the mechanisms of the voice. I believe that everyone can sing, it is just a matter of learning how to use your unique instrument. From a very young age I was sharing my love of the arts with others as a performer. I grew up with an immense appreciation for all forms of art and found music to be the ideal way to express myself. My extensive education and performance experience has allowed me to cultivate my skills and knowledge so that I can best support each student on their own unique journey of cultivating their authentic singing voice. As a teacher I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to support students by providing the positive and supportive guidance and experiences they need in order to cultivate their own musical gifts.

Music has always been my true passion. When I was five, I started playing piano using my attuned hearing. Improvising music and utilizing a great number of its variations gave me a great deal of pleasure and became my second nature. When teaching my students, I strive to have them inherit my skills and passion for this wonderful form of art.

Hi! My name is Shannon and I am very excited to be apart of the Take Lesson's team! I think I came out of the womb singing a song! My love of music and eventually performing, led me to recieve my bachelor's in Voice Performance from Missouri Southern State University in my hometown of Joplin, Missouri. While getting my degree, I realized I wasn't quite ready to embark in the professional performing world without a little more education. I went on to recieve my Masters Degree in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory. I moved to LA in the fall of 2009 and fell in love with the weather and the people.

Music is such an important part of my life and I love sharing my knowledge and passion with other people! Not only is learning about music a fun experience, but helps build discipline, confidence, and pride in ones accomplishments no matter how big or small. Music will be in our lives forever! To know more about it will only enhance ones life experience!

I started piano at age 4, and continued study for decades under top talent such as University of Arizona graduate Lynn Moser; Eastman School of Music graduate Randall Fusco; and Claremont graduate Andrea Anderson, PhD. Regardless of experience or goals, singing is one of the most satisfying and fulfilling forms of expression. Our voice provides a critical link with how we interact with the world and is subsequently influenced by our perceptions of how the world views us. Because of this, the study of voice is about much more than the mere physical production of sounds. Our singing voice is influenced by our lifestyle, diet, emotions, confidence, and stress level, all of which contribute to who we are as a singer as well as benefit from singing.

Towards this end, I am of the opinion that all students of singing should be initially taught a voice technique based upon the classical or bel canto style of singing. Once a firm technique is established, students can then branch off into other preferred styles of singing such as musical theater or jazz. Hi, my name is Tanya! Originally from Russia, I teach piano, singing, and opera voice. I accomplished all my education in Russia. After High School, I attended Musical College in city of Novorossiysk and continue my education in Krasnoyarsk School of Arts pursuing Bachelor Degree in music. I have teaching experience in Musical school for children, which includes piano lessons, choir conducting, theory and singing lessons. Not limited to teaching I used to perform as an soloist in concerts and choir competitions. In 1997 I've participated in Choir Festival in Tampere, Finland winning World Contest.
