About Me

I am a guitar teacher with 10+ years of experience teaching all different styles of music. Blues, Folk,Acoustic, funk,ska,Rock, Metal, Melodic, Country, Classical, Punk, Alternative, and various other melodies. I have played concerts all over the state of Illinois and I have taught many students throughout the years. I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced players. I am very passionate at what I do and I will guide you through the proper steps in becoming a great guitar player. Playing music takes a lot of time and patience as well as a lot of practice playing by yourself and in front of people. I am very relaxed and motivated to help my students learn and I will guide you through everything.

I would prefer that students bring their own guitars so that you would be more comfortable playing your own instrument, if you can't or do not have one, I have guitars here that you may use but during our sessions only.

About Me

A bachelors degree in music ed and 20+ years of playing and performing experience comes with you to every one of our lessons. Whether it be on trumpet, guitar, or piano I will consistently stress fundamentals that lead students towards the musicians they strive to be. I feel incorporating music that is relevant to the student and his or her goals is paramount and doable! I will always demonstrate the techniques and ideas I espouse. Lastly, I show my students the joy music has put in my life and in turn, show them how to play music towards the same ends.

About Me

Mezzo-soprano Katherine C. is one of the most promising young talents on today’s opera scene. She created the role of the Young Nun in the world premiere of Stephen Hartke’s The Greater Good during Glimmerglass Opera’s 2006 Festival Season, which was later recorded on the Naxos label, and recently returned to the company as Aglaonice in the critically acclaimed production of Philip Glass’s Orhpée. She recently made role debuts with much acclaim as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel at the Syracuse Opera (where she will be awarded the comprimari “Artist of the Year” in 2009) and as Siebel in Faust with Princeton Music Festival.

About Me

Learning to play music can change your life. It is a marvelous way to develop creativity, coordination, intellectual abilities, and self-esteem. Learning to play a stringed instrument is particularly satisfying since violin and viola players can perform in so many different musical styles.

Jeannette has over 20 years experience teaching in a private lesson setting, over 10 years experience teaching orchestra at high school level, and is presently String Orchestra Director at Lindop Public School District 92 in Broadview, IL. Jeannette attended Interlochen Arts Academy and Indiana University, Bloomington majoring in music performance while studying jazz with Dave Baker. She has been associate principal violist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and presently plays violin with Bella Vita String Quartet, Synchronicity and Candy Town.

About Me

I have been teaching individual and group lessons for 12+ years. Many of my students have won trophies at the Granquist music competition and also play in local youth orchestras. My own youth string ensemble plays publicly at many popular local venues several times a year. I enjoy exposing my students to the finer points of being a professional musician such as the camaraderie, team work, creativity (creating harmonies, tailoring arrangements to fit student’s level) and of course, stage presence. I am very proud of my students. It is so gratifying to see their confidence build with each new skill they master.

About Me

I began taking guitar lessons at the age of 11 with blues/jazz guitarist Tom Castonzo, a frequent performer, bandleader and teacher in and around the Chicago area. My studies with Tom lasted for many years and covered various musical and technical aspects of many different styles ranging from jazz to classical and everything in between. Throughout this time, I co-founded the progressive hard rock band Dream Haven, which performed with notable acts such as Mastodon, Fear Factory, Walls of Jericho, & Enuff Z'nuff. In 2003, Dream Haven released an EP entitled "Nostalgia is Five Frame." In 2002, I began performing in pit orchestras for various musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserable, The Wiz, Little Shop of Horrors, and Seussical the Musical.

A music student who is eager to learn everything that he/she can is an incredible thing. That student needs a teacher who can acknowledge that and do everything that he/she can to help that student grow as much as possible. If you or your child have an inquisitive mind about studying the beauty of music, I hope to hear from you! Besides performing, my passion lies in teaching and using my gifts to inspire others that will hopefully one day grow to inspire me, it is that aspect of music instruction that gives me my love for teaching.

Hello, my name is Adam G., and I am from the Wheaton, IL area. I have earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Columbia College Chicago, and my strengths lie in guitar performance, songwriting, and music theory.

MY BIOGRAPHY

-I started studying music at a young age, taking interest in piano, saxophone, and guitar. By the time I reached middle school, I was already writing his own songs and starting his own bands. My love for music continued to grow into a personal passion throughout high school, and the years after.

-During the first years of college, I founded the band End Point, with whom I recorded two full-length albums, played regular shows, gained a following, and was featured numerous times on the 96.7 iRock station (both in songs and interviews). During these years, I also completed my Associates of Arts degree at Hearltand CC.

I have experience in performing Broadway, Classical, and Pop music, as well as working with students that want to get ready for auditions, sing with more power, or just learn the basics of singing and music theory.
