About Me

I am a guitar teacher with 10+ years of experience teaching all different styles of music. Blues, Folk,Acoustic, funk,ska,Rock, Metal, Melodic, Country, Classical, Punk, Alternative, and various other melodies. I have played concerts all over the state of Illinois and I have taught many students throughout the years. I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced players. I am very passionate at what I do and I will guide you through the proper steps in becoming a great guitar player. Playing music takes a lot of time and patience as well as a lot of practice playing by yourself and in front of people. I am very relaxed and motivated to help my students learn and I will guide you through everything.

I would prefer that students bring their own guitars so that you would be more comfortable playing your own instrument, if you can't or do not have one, I have guitars here that you may use but during our sessions only.

About Me

I recently graduated from Illinois State University as a double major in Music Education and Violin Performance this past December. Currently I am a substitute teacher for Maine Township District 207. I have played with many orchestras and groups including; the Classical Symphony Orchestra, Protege Philharmonic, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State University Chamber Orchestra, Northwestern University Community Orchestra, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and many smaller ensembles. I am still currently playing with the Classical Symphony Orchestra and the Protege Philharmonic.

About Me

I come from a family of musicians and grew up with guitar and piano music in the house. I believe music is a gift to enjoy and develop. I began playing guitar and singing at the age of 13. I have played, taught and performed music since that time.
I have worked with musicians from various levels throughout the years in many different genres such as country, pop, folk and contemporary Christian music. I have also done some studio work. I have also played coffee shops and open mics in the Chicago area. For the past 10 years I have been a member of my church worship team playing guitar and singing. I hold a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University. Presently I teach both privately and in an academic after school program in Palatine, Il. I am very patient and actually truly enjoy my beginner guitar students. I love to see the look on their face when they finally play that first song.

About Me

Learning to play music can change your life. It is a marvelous way to develop creativity, coordination, intellectual abilities, and self-esteem. Learning to play a stringed instrument is particularly satisfying since violin and viola players can perform in so many different musical styles.

Jeannette has over 20 years experience teaching in a private lesson setting, over 10 years experience teaching orchestra at high school level, and is presently String Orchestra Director at Lindop Public School District 92 in Broadview, IL. Jeannette attended Interlochen Arts Academy and Indiana University, Bloomington majoring in music performance while studying jazz with Dave Baker. She has been associate principal violist with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and presently plays violin with Bella Vita String Quartet, Synchronicity and Candy Town.

About Me

Throughout my teaching experiences, I've had the privilege of teaching to all age groups and abilities on a wide array of subjects, including music. For the music student, I can bring many genres utilizing several instruments to the classroom. I am used to working with students on an individual basis, and am extremely flexible and adaptable to each student's needs and abilities.

About Me

A native of the musically rich Austin, TX, Jason began playing the guitar at age 11. His formal education began at Southeast Missouri State where he majored in classical guitar. During this time he also played the double bass in the orchestra and electric guitar in the jazz band. Jason won SEMO's concerto competition twice, once with a quartet and once solo, performing a movement from the "Concierto de Aranjuez".

Jason recently received his Masters of Music in guitar performance at Northwestern University where he studied with Anne Waller and performed in master classes for Oscar Ghiglia and David Russell. In addition to playing classical, Jason is an active electric player, performing in the Chicago area doing session work as well as musical theatre.

Mezzo-soprano Katherine C. is one of the most promising young talents on today’s opera scene. She created the role of the Young Nun in the world premiere of Stephen Hartke’s The Greater Good during Glimmerglass Opera’s 2006 Festival Season, which was later recorded on the Naxos label, and recently returned to the company as Aglaonice in the critically acclaimed production of Philip Glass’s Orhpée. She recently made role debuts with much acclaim as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel at the Syracuse Opera (where she will be awarded the comprimari “Artist of the Year” in 2009) and as Siebel in Faust with Princeton Music Festival.

That student needs a teacher who can acknowledge that and do everything that he/she can to help that student grow as much as possible. If you or your child have an inquisitive mind about studying the beauty of music, I hope to hear from you! Besides performing, my passion lies in teaching and using my gifts to inspire others that will hopefully one day grow to inspire me, it is that aspect of music instruction that gives me my love for teaching.

About Me

I began taking guitar lessons at the age of 11 with blues/jazz guitarist Tom Castonzo, a frequent performer, bandleader and teacher in and around the Chicago area. My studies with Tom lasted for many years and covered various musical and technical aspects of many different styles ranging from jazz to classical and everything in between. Throughout this time, I co-founded the progressive hard rock band Dream Haven, which performed with notable acts such as Mastodon, Fear Factory, Walls of Jericho, & Enuff Z'nuff. In 2003, Dream Haven released an EP entitled "Nostalgia is Five Frame." In 2002, I began performing in pit orchestras for various musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserable, The Wiz, Little Shop of Horrors, and Seussical the Musical.
