Katherine is an internationally-acclaimed, third-generation and award-winning artist who has appeared on Good Morning America, NBC 6, Telemundo and many other TV and radio shows. She has toured and performed throughout the US and abroad including top nightclubs in Los Angeles and NASCAR Vegas, Dallas and London. An inspiring and classically-trained musician/actor, she performs and teaches over 25 different genres. Down-to-earth, funny and knowledgeable, she has taught students nationwide and is known for her ability to produce results.

Her ability to connect with students is matched by her impressive resume. Katherine has been performing as a soloist since age five. She studied music and stage performance with her mother, a concert pianist and composer and her father, a trombonist/arranger who toured with The Boston Pops and played under classical music legends Igor Stravinsky and Paul Hindemith.

She served for two consecutive years as Broadway Voice Adjudicator for the Los Angeles Music Center's Annual Spotlight Awards, alongside Original Cast members of Les Miserables. Lessons are an exciting interplay between instructor and student. Pace is tailored to each individual, depending on age, interests and goals. The goal is to learn new things, expand your mind and have fun. Yoga and body stretches, posture and breathing, identifying your voice type, strengths and weaknesses, repertoire, self-analysis and more. Learn how to listen to your own voice, the inner voice within. Instrumental students learn from a variety of method books and by ear, depending on choice of style. About Me

I am a full-time pedagogue/performer with eight years' experience teaching private lessons in voice, piano, and acting to a range of ages and levels of students. Although the majority of my students are young adults, I have worked successfully with children, teenagers, and adult students (twenties to senior citizens) of both genders; I tailor my approach specifically to the goals and interests of each student; no two people learn the same way.
I hold a Bachelor's of Music in vocal performance from West Virginia University (summa cum laude, WVU Outstanding Senior, Honors College J. and C. Nath Outstanding Senior, Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships candidate). I regularly perform as a soloist in opera, oratorio, concerts, and recitals and completed training through the Ezio Pinza Concil for American Singers of Opera in Italy, the American Singers' Opera Project of North Carolina, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
As a teacher, I completed a year-long vocal pedagogy course with Cynthia Bess which provided me with a thorough understanding of the anatomy and psychology of singing, as well as a systematic approach to the correction of vocal faults. In the spring of 2010, one of my students, a teen-aged boy, was selected to attend Eastman's summer program for high school students. Several of my students have performed leading roles in school, community, and university musical productions.
I hold a full voting membership in the National Association of Teachers of Singing, am a Licensed Kindermusik Educator, am employed as Director of Music Ministry for a fairly large church, and was recently awarded the National Pastoral Musician's organ certification. I was also a teaching artist at Propel East Charter School for Greensburg American Opera and directed the Old Economy Singers (a twenty-voice historical choir) for six years.

I provide professional, knowledgeable, and individualized instruction in a supportive and encouraging environment. During the course of study with me, I expect voice students will improve vocal technique and sound quality, alleviate physical tension which may be interfering with phonation, expand their range, learn new repertoire, increase confidence, and grow as performing artists.
My vocal teaching method focuses on correct breathing and resonance; I also incorporate some activities from Barry Green's "Inner Game of Music" technique. Although my teaching is grounded in a scientific approach to the process of phonation, I also believe singing should be a fun experience for the student. We sing to communicate! I believe that a thorough technical foundation is necessary for free and healthy singing in any genre of music. I am willing to work with students in the vocal styles that interest them most; although my professional performance experience is in opera and musical theatre, I have also successfully worked with students whose interests included jazz, pop, rock, folk music, contemporary Christian music, and choral singing.
My piano pedagogical method matches each student with the right curriculum-- Alfred, Schaum, or Piano Adventures-- plus supplemental technical exercises such as scales, arpeggios, and Czerny and Hanon exercises. All students are exposed to theory through worksheets, games, and other applied activities. As soon as possible, I introduce "real" repertoire from master composers.

I teach Somatic Voicework The LoVetri Method created by Jeanie Lovetri) is a body-based method of vocal training which draws from many disciplines. It is based upon voice science and medicine as well as traditional classical vocal training, complementary tools such as yoga, movement, dance, acting, and speech training, and various bodywork approaches. My Education and Licensing includes, BAA of MDS studies West Virginia University, Studies in Master of Classical Performance Wichita State, Artist Diploma Duquesne University, and Levels I II & 3 In Somatic Voice Work from Shenandoah Conservatory. As of February 2014 I have been certified as a National Association of Teaching Singers " Nats" Vocal Coach. When I teach children I teach them Music theory using colors. The formula I use is called the "ROYBIV" Approach. While it is a new idea to society as I very recently had it copy righted, I have been using it for three years and it really works. "ROYGBIV" has has helped make music theory more applicable and fun.

Hi! I am a classically trained pianist originally from Syracuse, NY. I graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA where I studied piano under Professor Alec Chien. I also enjoyed playing the French horn and percussion with the Allegheny Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.

I have performed numerous piano solo recitals, as a featured pianist with the Allegheny Wind Ensemble, in piano duos, a piano quartet, small instrumental groups and in the pit orchestra for musical productions. I know the skills and technique needed to play as a soloist and in different types of groups. I am eager to share this with aspiring pianists.

I have 6+ years experience teaching private lessons to young children and 3 years experience in teaching fun group EZ play organ classes to senior citizens. My senior year I was also a substitute teacher for beginning class piano at Allegheny College.

I started piano lessons when I was 8 and music has been a part of who I am ever since. My goal as a teacher is to make a students' experience positive and rewarding. I have studied under 3 piano teachers in my life. Each teacher had a positive influence on me personally and musically. I strive to do the same for my students.

I like to use the Bastien or Alfred piano methods. Students will be engaged and excited with the progress they make. For the younger students 5-7 I prefer the Bastien method which includes 2 books: lesson book and theory/technique book. For young students 8 and up the Bastien method includes 4 books: lesson, Theory, Technique and Performance/Solo. For adults I use the Alfred's Basic All-in-One Piano Course. Once students are ready I incorporate chord progressions, scales, sight reading and ear training into the lessons. Each lesson builds on the concepts and skills learned in prior lessons. I provide an opportunity for students to perform in a recital twice a year to show family and friends their progress.

I put great importance on proper technique right from the start. Poor technique can frustrate a student and therefore hinder their enjoyment and sense of accomplishment.

Lessons incorporate things that appeal to different learning styles. For example, a visual learner may really enjoy the flashcards to help learn the notes on the staff. For an audible learner they may look forward to hearing me play a new musical passage for him/her before talking about it. Finally, clapping a rhythm before playing it can really benefit the kinesthetic learner.

About Me

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Nick B started filling in for local Pittsburgh rock bands and began touring and doing recording sessions immediately after high school.

In 2007, Nick began playing in The Morning Light who signed to Fearless Records. Nick has toured with multiple nationally signed acts and landed the number 27 spot on the billboard heatseeker charts with The Morning Light.

Nick joined the Steel City Ambassadors Drum and Bugle Corps in 2010 and went back into the practice room to further perfect his craft. During that time, he also filled in for Delaware artist Ian Walsh and did more session work. By the following year, Nick moved to LA to study at the Musicians Institute in LA and graduated in 2012.

Nick moved and resided in Bangkok, Thailand where he taught drums and music to kids at Rockademy Thailand throughout 2013. He currently resides back in Pittsburgh and teaches drums and music privately and sessions for both local and national artists

My name is Cheyenne J H and I am a jazz pianist, composer, and electronic music producer based in Pittsburgh, PA. I studied jazz at the University of California, Los Angeles, obtained a masters degree in music composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and was a busy instructor and performer through the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 7 years including a 6 year residency as the pianist at Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. I have performed at Yoshi's in San Francisco as well as numerous other venues. I have taught privately for 17 years and taught at two bay area music schools over the past 3 years.
As a piano instructor, I emphasize note reading, rhythm, as well as incorporating some improvisation into lessons as well.
