I've played drums for over 20 years in orchestral settings, bands, solos and more. I was a music minor in college and I play other instruments as well. I currently enjoy watching students grow and learn new things.

I don't know for certain when I decided that I really, really wanted to play the piano. I do remember hearing about what a wonderful pianist my mother had been at one time. The problem was that we didn't have a piano! When I was about 9, I began going with my friends to THEIR piano lessons, and my mother finally bought a beautiful baby grand piano. I was immediately in love with the piano, and that same piano now brings wonderful memories as well as beautiful music to my own home. I am certain that the increased confidence and self-esteem that resulted from my increasing skill at the piano,plus the 'can do' attitude that develops from mastering something that you love to do through practice and hard work, have proven valuable to me ever since. Now I have the opportunity to play an integral part in providing these same positive experiences to others, and I am truly excited!

I have been involved in music since early childhood, and started playing guitar in my teens. Today guitar is my primary instrument. I can help you play a variety of styles, including but not limited to, Rock of all types, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Fingerstyle, Chord Melody and New Age music. Both electric and acoustic guitar, as well as bass guitar lessons are offered. I have been giving private guitar lessons since 1988 and have performed in numerous rock and blues bands since that time as well.

Currently my live performing act is solo instrumental acoustic guitar in a new age jazz style. Since I am a also a professional performing musician I am able to offer help, insights and assistance in many areas.

I've been playing the violin for 15 years, which includes soloing, small and large ensembles, and competitions. I also play the piano, having started at four with lessons then reteaching myself when I was 12, which enables me to accompany my students. I feel playing with piano accompaniment is important for the learning process.

When I was really young I kept begging my parents for violin lessons because I loved the way it sounded. They told me I had to learn the piano first because we had a teacher in the family and a piano. So when I was 5 I started the piano, but I kept begging them for the violin. They finally got me a violin and started me on lesson when I was 9. I was in heaven. I have taken private violin lessons since then, including at Brigham Young University (where I obtained my degree in English and Music), and have loved every moment of it.

I am a recent graduate of Brigham Young University in Media Music Studies with a minor in Portuguese. I grew up in Portland, OR where I studied jazz and contemporary piano for 12 years. This gave me a solid understanding of theory that I use in every aspect of my musical endeavors. At BYU, I found I excelled in recording technology and songwriting. I won 1st place in the 2008 Utah Pioneer Heritage Arts Songwriting Competition and I helped teach college courses in Songwriting for three years.

Hi! My name is Jordan. I've lived and breathed music in all its forms my whole life, thanks mostly to my father, who was my guitar teacher and the reason I listen to so much Hendrix. I've been playing guitar for over 12 years, and I've been teaching private lessons for the past 3 years. I started picking up bass two years ago, and I'm in the process of learning piano, too!

In January 2011, I got a job teaching group classes to students at Oquirrh Mountain Charter School in Kaysville. I'm pursuing an AS in Music at SLCC, after which I'll be pursuing my Bachelor's in Music Education at the University of Utah...or Weber. Can't decide.
