I began studying guitar as a teenager and began teaching at a music store just after graduating from high school.While in my twenties I taught myself steel guitar, banjo and mandolin. Most of my education has been practical: thousands (in the low thousands, but still thousands) of live performances, recording sessions and private and group lessons.

I don`t think there are any short cuts to learning an instrument (and I`ve been around long enough to see plenty of "master guitar in x number of days" gimmicks come and go) but a good teacher can help a student set realistic goals and meet them in a minimum amount of time.

Music has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, when my father would record my brother and I singing. I always loved singing and learned many of my favorite songs as a child.

I started playing the trumpet in the 4th grade, which has led me all the way to receiving my degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education! I was lucky enough to attend one of the nation's top music schools, The Peabody Institute, and I now work toward my Master's degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have enjoyed performing in everything from big-band-lead to principal trumpet in the orchestra, leading brass quintets and brass ensembles, and much more! The trumpet has been a huge passion for as long as I can remember now!

While I was learning songs as a child, I decided I wanted to join a band! Now here we are 10 years later and I've have the fortune of performing as a lead singer in bands across the country, and let me tell you there is no bigger thrill than getting...

I have been happily playing music for over 12 years now and it has always been the light in my day. Now it is my hope to shed that same light onto you or your child. I am a very friendly and fun teacher with a great deal of professionalism and patience, even more importantly I LOVE teaching and I LOVE music with a passion. I have been playing an instrument since the 4th grade (cello) and, as I learned how music works, was slowly able to pick-up a greater variety instruments with an increasing degree of ease. In high school, I decided to pick-up the guitar just to "have fun and rock out". I joined a band, played in the high school orchestra, joined the high school jazz band and began to practice songwriting and cover songs - at this point, guitar had become my primary instrument. Still, it was not until after I took my first class on music theory that I knew how much I not only loved the thrill of playing music but the discovery of how it worked. I have been playing music for over fifteen years and have been teaching professionally for over five. I really enjoy teaching and performing and I have won awards in music composition. I have a BA in Education and have taken numerous music courses in my academic career including Harmony, Musicianship, Composition etc. I have also taught in all cities in South Orange County. I am 25, I live in Laguna Hills, and I have always done well with younger students because I can relate to them better than a lot of teachers from my experience. It's always nice to see the expression on students faces when they learn to play something they listen to and really wanted to learn. It's a skill that you will carry with you for the rest of your life. I specialize in electric and acoustic guitar including rock, pop, and folk music.

I have 30 years teaching experience. I can teach many styles - from metal, country to classical. I expect my students to be their own musicians. I really stress creativity. I will teach you any song you like from your favorite artist, but I want you to write your own songs. I have plenty of local band experience. I am a graduate of the Musicians institute in Hollywood.
