Hi! My name is Kristine, and I'm a classically trained contralto, lifelong music student, and performer. My music studies began with piano at the age of six, but eventually led to two undergraduate degrees in Music and Broadcasting, which included ten years of private study in Bel Canto technique.

In addition to my work as a classical singer, I regularly collaborate with a variety of artists working in genres such as folk, bluegrass, gospel, experimental rock, spoken word, broadway, and jazz standards. These collaborations have resulted in performances at a variety of Denver venues, as well as private engagements and parties.

After over twenty-five years of musical training and performance in a wide range of genres, I began teaching as a way to share my love of music with children and adults who are in the early stages of their exploration of this wonderfully expressive art. Hello Students and Parents!

Ever since I was 8 years old I've been singing as a church choir member and as a soloist. Currently I am a Cantor and Choir Director for a Lutheran church in the Denver, Colorado. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Metropolitan State University of Denver, while studying privately with Dr. Mee Ae Nam.

I have performed many different genres of music including Opera, Jazz, Musical Theater and even original music I co-wrote for a local children's theater!

I have been teaching private voice lessons for about two years. As an instructor and vocal coach I make it my job to help you obtain YOUR goals as a singer and not goals that I determine for you.

I love to sing and I love to teach people of all ages how to sing!

I am a voice teacher for students of all ages, from 5 years old to 100 :)

I have experience teaching children, high school students, college students as well as adults. My goal in teaching is to help each student find their individual voice and help with their personal goals. I believe that vocal technique is the proper foundation to helping any student learn how to sing. My desire as a teacher is to instill confidence in each student and provide great instruction while making lessons fun!

I can teach music in all genres; however, I specialize in classical, musical theater and opera. Whether you are preparing for a career in music or just hope to sing your favorite songs better, I know that I can help you be the best musician you can be.

I have been in love with music and singing since I was a very young child, and I have made it my life's goal to share that love as much as possible. I believe singing can be a vehicle for learning discipline, focus, collaboration, music theory, self-expression, language, interpretation, short-term and long-term goal setting and achievement, musicality, literacy, history, confidence and passion, and I hope to instill these gifts in all of my students.

I completed my BA in Music Education from Fort Lewis College, and then moved to Denver to complete my Masters of Music in vocal performance at the University of Denver. During that time I have been blessed with many performance opportunities in choirs, operas, musical theatre, and jazz settings. Favorite roles include Roxie Hart in CHICAGO the musical, and Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro.

I have been performing music since I was in the 4th grade when I started playing clarinet. In the 8th grade I started playing the oboe, and decided in my senior year to go to Ithaca College to become a music teacher, studying with Paige Morgan.

While at Ithaca College, I had a private studio of 4 oboe players who were in middle school and high school. My oldest student was selected to be an oboe player at the NYSSMA All-State conference. I also toured around New York state playing in operas, as a solist, and in many broadway shows.

Upon graduation I was hired by Teach for America and Denver Public Schools to be a music teacher k-8th grade. I taught music theory, band, orchestra and piano.

I now play the flute, oboe, saxophone or clarinet for hire, and love to share my love for music with my students.

Growing up in Denver, I had a huge desire for singing and performing. By age 14, I was taking weekly singing & piano lessons, was acting constantly in local productions-many times getting the lead role.
Some of the productions I acted in: The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Camelot, Anything Goes (Reno Sweeney), How to Succeed in Business (Smitty), Carousel, Oklahoma, Les Miserables, and Oliver (Nancy.)
I received a 4-year scholarship to the Conservatory of Music in Stockton, CA. at the University of the Pacific. Upon graduation, I entered graduate school at the University of North Texas to continue my singing and piano studies, along with music theory, history, and musical video production.
Upon graduating UNT, I was chosen among 200 performing arts majors to be the featured soloist at the UNT commencement ceremonies. This led to an offer to tour Italy with the Rome Festival Orchestra. For the next two summers I performed in Copenhagen, Istanbul, Rome and Berlin with the Berlin...

In my studio, you get to use your outside voice! I have been in the music field for over 20 years as a professional singer, actress, and voice teacher. My love of music and positive attitude shine through in my teaching methods. We'll have fun and work hard at the same time.

Additionally, my extensive professional experience in opera, musical theater, jazz, and pop make me a valuable resource to students pursuing professional careers in voice and theater.

I have appeared in leading roles on international Broadway tours as well as regional theater throughout the United States. I hold a master’s degree in vocal performance from New England Conservatory in Boston.
