From the first time I struck a key on a piano, I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life. The emotions you get from happiness, to fulfillment, to a gained self-esteem; that is the gift of music that I give to my students.

Throughout high school, I was in orchestra, marching band, and choir, which I feel has helped broaden my musicality at a young age. I have been classically trained in piano for over 10 years, but also have a background in rock/pop/alternative styles. I have trained in voice for 4 years and primarily am familiar with pop/rock styles.

In my spare time, I plan musical benefit shows supporting charities such as "VH1 Save the Music Foundation" & "To Write Love on Her Arms." These two charities in particular helped me not only give back to the music world, but to helping others who have it hard. Besides an education, I also feel it's important for a teacher to be pure hearted.

I have been teaching piano for almost 40 years. I have a NY state music teachers license, a masters in music therapy from NYU, and a bachelors in Music Education and AFFA certification.
I try to keep the student self-motivated by using music that the student likes, as well as covering the basics. I use props which can be internalized by the student and gradually removed. For example, using stick-on letter names for the notes for a beginner and then removing them one at a time when the student feels ready.
I am friendly and very easy going; I'm not a disciplinarian. If a student doesn't practice for some reason, we practice together at the next lesson. If a student doesn't want to practice at all, I can be very creative in motivating them. I don't believe in parents forcing their children to practice, because this tends to turn the child off. I am a professional guitarist with a background in jazz and classical music. I was born and raised in Springfield, IL where I studied piano, violin, and guitar from a young age. In high school and college I played in several rock and folk bands in addition to my classical and jazz studies.

After earning my Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Studies in 2005, my wife and I moved to New York City. Since then, I have taught and performed regularly and earned my Master of Music in Jazz Performance. I have taught a wide array of students ranging in age from 5 years old to 70 years old.

I am a classical singer and pianist from Wisconsin! I started playing music at the age of three on the piano and starting taking voice lessons when I was 15. When I was in graduate school in Las Vegas I started teaching both voice and piano lessons and found how much I loved imparting my knowledge to others and watching them make progress.

I have performed leading roles in Operas and soloed in orchestral concerts. I mainly perform opera and classical but love musical theatre as well. My performing experience has taught me a lot which I am eager to pass on to my students! I moved to New York City three months ago but I had a studio of around 35 students in Las Vegas both voice and piano.

My name is Steve and originally hail from the Detroit area. I've completed my Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Western Michigan University and Masters of Music in Opera Performance from Wichita State University. I am well versed in both musical theatre and classical styles and repertoire and enjoy teaching and performing either genre! I also have worked a lot with professional choruses and have had the pleasure of recording collaborative works with Miami based chorus Seraphic Fire under the direction of Patrick Dupré Quigley. Percussionist and composer Marc W. was born in Switzerland, where he studied classical percussion at the Geneva Conservatory. He has lived in the United States since the 1980s, where he studied composition and mallet technique on the vibraphone at the Berklee School in Boston, then moved to New York City to further his jazz performance and percussion skills. Since that time, Marc has toured the U.S., Europe, Japan and Brazil, and can be heard on over 20 recordings, including 4 solo albums.
Marc’s interest in electronics led him to push the boundaries of live performance with the “electronic vibraphone”, where he is recognized as a pioneer on this instrument.
Beside a performer and a composer, Marc teaches workshops here and in Europe, and is very involved in making computers accessible to visually impaired musicians. I received my Bachelor of Music degree from New York University, and I am working on my Master of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music.

I have performed at many well-known venues including The Blue Note, The Jazz Gallery, The Bitter End, Sullivan Hall, The Garage, Caffe Vivaldi, Miles Cafe, and The Local 269 in New York City; Twins Jazz Club in Washington DC; Trumpets Jazz Club in Montclair NJ; and Chris' Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia.

My students improve through a better knowledge of the fingerboard and a comprehensive look at the songs that define your preferred music genre. Play by ear and improve your reading while learning jazz, blues, and folk styles. In over 20 years of teaching, I show students how to play chords and single note lines with ease.

Kama toured doing musical theater for many years. Now, she has 3 full length albums on itunes, is released under Blue Pie Records, and her music is on radio worldwide. Although she was vocally trained in High School and College with teachers who studied Opera, she didn't blossom until she studied under RIDLEY CHAUVIN, Ridley taught Kama not just how to SING but how to find her voice using visual imagery and concepts, while incorporating technique. She went from having an ALTO range to having 4 octaves. She sings all of her own harmonies on most of her songs, and understands how to blend the voice for more freedom.
