About Me

At the early age of seven, Sarai began learning piano and continued her studies with superior ratings through her participation in the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festival and the National Guild of Piano Teachers Auditions. Her successful artistic work throughout adolescence led Sarai to the Stetson University School of Music where she was accepted and awarded the William E. Duckwitz Talent Scholarship.

While at Stetson, Sarai has pursued composition studies working with Dr. Manuel de Murga and Dr. Sidney Hodkinson. As a composer, Sarai has participated in Stetson University’s Student Composer concerts with notable guest artists including Michael Rickman and David Amram, and has had several of her works performed each year since 2008. In 2009, Sarai premiered her own chamber work, “Reaching” at her Senior Composition Recital.

Music isn't just a career choice: it is a way of life. I have been playing music since I was a toddler; everything I have learned about life has been through music. I believe that self-expression is important to being confident with yourself. I look forward to sharing my passion for music and teaching with any students who are ready to learn!

I have over a decade of performance experience and have played along the East Coast with several bands. Some venues I have performed at recently include The Plaza Theatre in Orlando; Backbooth in Downtown Orlando; The Crowbar in Tampa; The Bandshell and The Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach. Some groups I play with are Run Rhino, The Mighty St. John's, The Children of Stone, and MPG (Mobile Performance Group). I have performed piano recitals in both classical and jazz and have accompanied soloists. I have also performed in blues bands, pop bands, and rock bands.

I have performed sax recitals in both classical and jazz and performed with big bands and jazz combos as well as marching band and concert band. I have performed in contemporary rock/pop ensembles that include country, blues, R&B, rock, pop… etc.

About Me

I am a recent graduate of the Stetson University classical guitar performance program and also regularly perform in professional groups across a broad spectrum of genres.

Another passion of mine is digital arts, in which I minored in college, with experience in Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton Live, and Max/MSP (sound design and music programming).

I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, where I began playing music around the age of 11. I was selected to attend LaVilla Schol of the Arts, in 6th grade, where I began playing various low brass instruments and playing in the school's symphonic band. I decided around the age of 13 that I wanted to begin playing guitar and soon found myself in the classical guitar program at LaVilla, along with still playing in the symphonic band and making All-State band later that year.
