Mark H. has been a professional teacher, musician, and singer for over 20 years. He has taught Voice, Guitar, Acting, Bass Guitar, & Music Theory to students of all ages in various settings ranging from private lessons to college classrooms. He is a fun, experienced, passionate teacher willing to work with students of all levels from beginners to professionals. Mark absolutely loves helping all his students achieve their individual goals.

Mark has performed in musical groups that have played locally and toured nationally. He has opened for national recording artists such as Eddie Money, Blackfoot, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Molly Hatchet, and Shooting Star (to name just a few). He has extensive songwriting experience and has composed original songs for various local bands. He has also produced musical scores for theatrical productions at the University of Minnesota, Harmon Place Players, and the Rhombus Theater Company.

I am Mrs. Nancy and I have a BA Degree from St. Olaf college in Choral and General Music Education. I also studied Band/Instrumental music after college. I have years of experience teaching bands, choirs, general classes, musicals and private lessons.
I believe I have a strong basis to teach the "basics" of music and my goal is to produce independent musicians who LOVE music.

I am a 27 year old drummer with 18 years of experience spanning all genre's and styles of music. Countless hours of stage performance with bands. A love, drive and passion for music and drumming you won't find in any other instructor! Multiple studio recordings both behind the mixing board and behind the drum set. 8 years of teaching experience, realizing the importance of setting a unique curriculum for each student tailored to fit each individual's goals and interests. I have been involved in bands ever since middle school, starting with rock, and moving on to perform in country bands, hip-hop performances, indie rock bands, and progressive rock bands. A strong knowledge of jazz techniques and music theory as well as the ability to read drum sheet music make me a perfect instructor for any student.

I got my first guitar as a Christmas gift when I was 12 years old, after a few lessons, practiced a lot, and by the time I was 15, was playing around town. I learned to play guitar by transcribing what I heard on records.

I received my music degree from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1997. I have been playing, teaching and performing guitar for over 30 years now. I like to focus on basic musicianship for beginners, while intermediate to advanced students can expect to learn theory and improvisation using rock, blues and jazz styles. I enjoy helping beginning guitar players get started on the right track. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling and performing with my wife, singer/songwriter Rachel.

My knowledge of music theory allows me to explain abstract concepts and ideas to my students in a language that they can understand. I enjoy helping people to gain a better understanding of music in this way.

Nathan holds degrees in voice performance from Northwestern College and Denver University. Since the completion of his Master’s he has performed with the professional male vocal ensemble Cantus, performed in Guthrie Theater’s nationally broadcast H.M.S. Pinafore, and participated in several productions with Minnesota Opera. Nathan enjoys helping students develop their voices, whether for musical theater, opera, or their own compositions. Nathan is passionate about communicating the elements of good vocal technique in a way that makes sense to each student. Besides performing and teaching, Nathan loves collaborating with fellow musicians to produce concert programs and new works.

I am an energetic and dedicated teacher who has been guiding students through the process of discovering their voice for over six years. I believe that everyone has the capacity to sing, and that each instrument is special and unique. The primary goal of my instruction will always be to teach healthy vocal habits that allow that individual’s true voice to shine through with ease and enjoyment. Singing is an extremely challenging but also very rewarding activity that can be a blessing throughout one’s lifetime.

I have dedicated my life to the art of singing, and have had extensive performing experience. Most recently, I have portrayed Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Lulu in Elmer Gantry, First Lady and Papagena from The Magic Flute, Laurey in Oklahoma and appeared as a guest soloist for Bach’s Cantata 43. These experiences give me valuable insight into the challenges of performing; lessons that I am eager to share with my students.

Over the course of my music career, I've worn a lot of different hats including: member of the Board of Admissions for Berklee College of Music, singer/songwriter independently releasing 2 albums of original music, touring artists performing around the country, monthly singer/songwriter series host in both Chicago and Boston, band leader with many different musicians, and music teacher of the internationally acclaimed early childhood program, Music Together, in both Chicago and the Twin Cities.

My music training began when I was a young girl in church choir in Memphis, TN. Since then, I've had the opportunity to study in a lot of different ways including guitar lessons at the age of 10, classical training on flute throughout high school and a year at UMass Amherst, coursework in ear training, harmony and guitar at Berklee College of music, guitar lessons at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, and Music Education courses at Concordia St. Paul.

Born and raised in South Minneapolis, MN, Miguel began playing drums at age 11 while in grade school at the Ramsey International Fine Arts Center. He has been performing regularly at local venues and festivals including the Dakota Jazz Club, Artists’ Quarter, and the Twin Cities Jazz Festival with youth bands and with well known local musicians since the age of 14. Upon graduating from Minneapolis South High School, he moved to New York City where he studied at the Manhattan School of Music and played around the city. I began playing guitar more than ten years ago and fell in love with the instrument. I immersed myself in music, joining in bands and playing with as many people as I could. I quickly gained a wide variety of skills in genres ranging from folk, alternative rock, punk, heavy metal, and solo acoustic.

Since then, music has been the focus of my life. I have received years of instruction from noteworthy musicians through WI and MN. I currently study Music Therapy at the University of Minnesota. Through my schooling I have learned music theory, music history, and have furthered my musicianship in all aspects. I have a passion not only for performing, but for teaching and bringing music into others' lives.
