I am a musician and teacher who has been playing music since my childhood. I've played on stage in front of over a thousand people, and I've performed quiet venues with audiences of 30 or so. I have incredible patience; I can teach at any pace for as long as the student remains engaged in learning. I can teach open chords, barre chords, the CAGED system, standard notation, jazz notation, TAB, Nashville numbers, how to use a capo, triads, quartal harmonies, fingerstyle, classical, blues, jazz, rock n roll, pop, etc...Pretty much anything that the student gets excited about, I can get excited about. Many of my students not only learn to sing, they also learn to write their own songs and record. However, if you want to learn to sing, we can do that. I have two Master's degrees, one in education and one in supervision. So I understand how students learn. I have been teaching over 10 years. My training took place with very special teachers, people who write, and sing for a living. Jai josel who worked for RCA, Jason Blume, who wrote for Brittney Spears, and Stephen Schwartz who wrote the Broadway Musical, Wicked. My singing teachers include Van Christy, Roger Love, Rosemary Bulter and others. Recently I completed an album of 12 original songs. A lifelong lover of music, I have been playing guitar for over 15 years and have played in various professional capacities locally and regionally. Robert Blake

Robert Blake is a classically trained singer and an actor. Growing up in North Carolina, he was active in a variety of musical styles since childhood. Blake studied theatre from a young age at Charlotte Children's Theatre and for a while at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, shortly after he received some vocal training at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Blake was active as a professional singer, actor and vocal coach in the music community of Brazil from 2002-2008. Prior to Brazil, he spent several years in Germany singing opera in a Cabaret theatre, in Seattle singing, writing and recording a hybrid style of rock and country music, and in North Carolina directing young singers in a variety of opera performance pieces. He has sung and has appeared in concert as a soloist on several recordings with the Symphonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais. I have been passing on what I've learned in my own studies, Personal and privately taught, to help new students get the strong foundations for becoming the best musician they can be. I've been playing since age 6 (now 44) and performing since 18. I started with Classical guitar, then Rock and Jazz. In all my years of study, I've learned how to teach and how NOT to teach. I have had many years of private lessons. I've written, recorded and performed for over 20 years. My wife and I even do voice over work on occasion.

I've taught Piano, Acoustic, Electric, Bass, and Drum lessons for seven years in New York and South Carolina. Both my mom and dad were musicians and taught private lessons at home, so I grew up wanting to be a part of the music making. Now I am a university music educator who performs frequently as a soloist and collaborative pianist. I hold piano performance degrees from Carnegie Mellon and Yale. In addition, I've studied chamber music at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau (France) and vocal accompanying at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. I perform as a church musician, choral accompanist, and recital pianist in traditional and more modern styles. I'm active as a collaborative artist in competitions, auditions, and recordings. In the past three years I've been studying ballroom dancing for fun and as an extension of my interest in experiencing music from the standpoint of total body movement. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Classical Guitar from Brevard College. Since 1999, I have been playing a variety of styles of guitar including Jazz, Classical, Blues, and Rock. In addition to continuing my studies in guitar, I play in multiple bands and also spend time in my home recording studio. Following my audio engineering experience with Charles Holloman Productions of Charlotte, NC, I am able to complement his classical training with a modern take on music in the professional world.

I am a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. My major was Music Production and Engineering, so I understand both the technical and the musical side of the business. My main playing style has always been rock, but I can teach you the basics of almost any style, including country, blues and jazz.

In Los Angeles, I played with singer/songwriter Beth Thornley for many years, among others. Beth is an award-winning artist who has placed numerous songs in major films and TV shows. As a recording engineer, I also worked on hundreds of films, records, and music videos. I even spent two years in the studio with Michael Jackson!
