Hello everyone! My name is Vinnie, and I am a San Francisco Bay-Area native, and have been an active member in the local music scene for the past decade. A recent graduate from San Jose State University, I earned both a MA & BM in Jazz Studies Performance (also holds AA form Cabrillo College in music), and studied with one of the most in-demand SF Bay-Area drummers, Jason Lewis. With a passion and dedication for teaching, I can help you develop the fundamentals necessary to play the drums in a variety of styles ranging from: jazz, rock, funk, Latin, and orchestral.

I am passionate about tutoring students and helping students get into their dream schools. I graduated from California State University East Bay in 2011 with a degree in Business Administration with options in Advertisement and Corporate Management. I have had previous experience working as a mentor for kids, tutoring in a high school math class, and as well as one-on-one tutoring at a private learning center.


I've had some difficulty with math when I was younger, so I can relate to the frustrations that a student can go through. I want to help those students who struggle and let them find comfort in a tutor who makes math easier to understand.

I graduated from the Musicians Institute in '07,and currently perform in the popular band Tainted Love. My main objective is to give all my students the direction they need to become the best musician they can be. I know every student is different and learns at a different rate. At age I 12 picked up a guitar and fell in love with the instrument. I began with an obsession with Metallica and related bands, which really inspired me to play along and learn that genre of music. That later evolved to a big interest in classical and jazz music as well as an interest in music theory. I believe the pitfall of a lot of musicians learning music theory “limits” you as a musician, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Whether you want to write, play in a band or just noodle around there’s a spot for you!

I have studied under Mark Simons of the San Francisco Guitar quartet from 2008 -2010 and completed the music program at Diablo Valley College in June of 2010, which includes extensive coursework in Music theory, Piano and Guitar. Hi. I'm Don. I’ve been playing the piano for over 40 years, and B-3 organ and synthesizer for over 30 years. My early training was in classical piano, but then I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, and there was no turning back. After a couple of years of teaching myself guitar, I returned to the piano, and later, organ and synthesizer. I’ve been playing professionally in rock, R&B, blues, country, light jazz, and lounge bands for over 30 years. I did continue to study classical music in college -- piano, theory, composition, and history -- but by then I was committed to popular music. I've always loved teaching -- even while I was in college, I tutored my fellow students in piano and music theory.

Along with performing, I have done much recording session work, and have worked with songwriters to help them better arrange their songs. I’m currently working in three classic rock bands, and in an eclectic duo with my wife, a singer / guitarist / bass player. I still play...

My music education began at age 8 when, after a year of pestering my parents, I got my first guitar. My self-taught forays began casually at first, until I was introduced to the likes of Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton (the Cream years) and then later, Frank Marino, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, and Allan Holdsworth. By age 15, it was "all about the guitar: eat-sleep-school-guitar," with many countless hours burning the midnight oil, deciphering the solos of my heroes. I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area after high school and began studying guitar under the mentor-ship of virtuoso Marc Bonilla (who has worked with such luminaries as Ronnie Montrose, Derek Sherinian, Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple). Bonilla has since moved to L.A. to pursue an impressive career as a film and T.V. composer, while I stayed on in the Bay Area as full time working guitarist/studio musician/composer/teacher.
