Jacquelyne Y. Bath, PA

Subjects Taught

Baking, Cooking, Fitness, Nutrition, Piano, Singing, Songwriting

About Me

As a young child, Jacquie began to show interest in both piano and voice. Coming from a musical family tree, her father began teaching her beginner piano as well as vocal harmony through original children compositions. She began her formal piano training at age 8 and continued to study for the next 5 years. At this time she also began writing music and recording her compositions in the family recording studio.

Around the age of 12, Jacquie began her training in classical voice. She is well versed in all styles from Opera to Pop and has the unique ability to train others to accomplish their musical goals. As a Coloratura Soprano she has starred in many productions and won prestigious vocal competitions throughout the USA and Europe. Jacquie is an accomplished Contemporary Songwriter and Recording Artist which has caught the eye of quite a few National Recording Companies. In the Summer of 2000 she toured throughout Tuscany, Italy as a featured soloist with SSMA with an Orchestral Ensemble. While in college she minored in Piano Performance and majored in Vocal Performance.

Jacquie began teaching at the age of 16 from her family's music store in beginner piano and voice where she learned the art of being an private instructor. Since then she has taught at other prestigious Music Schools and has trained students of all ages to the advanced level. She prides herself on the ability to be able to customize each lesson to accommodate both the student's wants and needs. She has trained many students who have gained successful entrance into LVPA Charter High School, Community Theaters and highly acclaimed competitions such as "American Idol." In 2005 she acquired a membership with NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing).

Come have FUN with Jacquie, she would love to have the opportunity to guide you or your children through a musical journey!

As a private instructor Jacquie believes that lessons can be both FUN and rewarding. She holds her students accountable for practicing and preparing for the next week's lesson by setting goals and providing techniques in order to be successful. Throughout the lesson she will give praise for the students accomplishments as well as give constructive feedback for improvement. She prefers to teach from the Alfred's Piano Library for Piano, recommends Theory, Harmony & Solfege, as well as materials for the students choice of Musical and Vocal style. It is also recommended to bring a notebook, binder and personal MP3 device in order to prepare for the next week's lesson. Within the first 3-6 months a student will have learned the beginning techniques for either piano or voice and have quite a few songs added to their repertoire.

Jacquie's studio has a comfortable seating area for parents to observe the lesson if desired. She also has a full size digital studio piano, recording studio, stereo, and other musical necessities to accommodate each and every lesson professionally.

All styles from Opera to POP!
Experience with teaching young children, special needs (physically/intellectually disabled), and people who are tone deaf.

Alison D. Cambridge, MA

Subjects Taught

Audition Prep, Baking, Cake Decorating, Ear Training, Flute, Music Performance, Music Theory

About Me

How many people can say they have wanted to play the flute since they were a child and actually stick with it? From the first time Alison heard the flute's sweet breathy sound at a Vermont Symphony Orchestra concert at the age of four, there was no question music performance was her calling. Alison began studies as a Vermont resident, learning beginner to intermediate flute technique and performance under the tutelage of Heidi Baxter and the Upper Valley Music Center. Throughout her High School career, Alison developed abilities as a collaborative performer participating in Districts Bands, chamber ensembles, and attending summer music programs such as Skidmore College's Summer Flute Institute and the New England Music Camp in Maine. In 2002 she also began teaching beginner flute students.

In 2004 after winning the Rosenburg Scholarship in Music, Alison chose to continue her studies under David Lavorgna as a music performance major at Goucher College. It was here Alison advanced her skills as a classical musician taking classes in musicianship, music theory, music history, chamber ensemble performance, and sitting first chair of her section in Chamber Orchestra for the duration of her studies. Also during this time, she expanded her musical understanding studying music abroad in Prague, taking Independent flute technique lessons in Florence Italy, and attending many of Goucher College's lecture series and world music events. Also in 2008, she began private Irish Flute instruction with Laura Byrne. As a soloist, Alison performed a variety of standard classical music repertoire for flute in the Baroque to 20th century eras and graduated top of her class in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance.

Now living in the Cambridge/Somerville area of Massachusetts, Alison continues to expand and improve her skills as a performer and teacher. You can see her perform regularly with local bands at some of the Boston areas top music clubs and accompanying local Children's Music super star Jeff Kaupi, putting a new twist on well known Children's Music folk tunes and Jeff's original compositions.

*** Lesson Details ***
Before your first lesson, Alison will give you a call to discuss the student's specific wants and needs. This is because she has discovered lessons are much more meaningful to her students when they have specific ascertainable goals to work towards. Each lesson draws from a variety of methods and techniques Alison uses in her own practice to improve musicianship, breath control, and tone. Students can expect to work on some of the following during their lessons:
