Glynis D. Long Beach, CA

My favorite thing as a child was watching musicals, especially the classic ones. I performed in many musicals when I was younger and absolutely love this style of music.

About Glynis

Glynis has been reading music since before she knew how to read words. Her mother started teaching her piano lessons at age 3, and she started taking voice lessons at age 7. She learned from an early age to practice every day. She has taught all levels and ages of piano and voice for many years. Glynis specializes in jazz voice, but has a very strong classical and musical theatre background. She is an arranger, composer, educator, and singer. She received her AA in Professional Music from SWCC, school for music vocations, then got her BA in Jazz Studies, Vocal Performance at CSU Sacramento. She is currently working on her Masters in Jazz Studies, Vocal Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory inside of CSU Long Beach. While studying she is the Graduate Assistant for Christine Guter, and ...

We love Glynis! Glynis has a delightful, cheerful personality. She is a very engaging teacher for our 8 year old daughter, Kate. Kate is learning a lot about the piano, playing the piano, and music theory. Glynis is prompt in getting to the lessons on time and responding to text messages. We appreciate Glynis' musical talent, teaching skills, and also that she is easy to communicate with on scheduling issues.
We have four musical kids and have had MANY music lessons and music teachers. I am credible in saying Glynis is a GREAT Music Teacher!

Learn to sing with strength and conviction. Familiar with musical theatre music for all ages. Students of mine have successfully auditioned for and been accepted to performing arts programs.

About Catherine

You can sing for life! I love to sing and I have been doing it all my life. I also love to share my enthusiasm, skills and knowledge with people. I started singing at a very young age and lived in a household where everyone sang. When I was fifteen, I got my first professional singing job and never looked back. I think it's my experience along with my education that is a great benefit to my students. I have sung in every vocal genre you can think of: pop, rock, jazz, blues, Broadway, opera, and choral music. I share this experience with my students, helping to guide them by providing them with insights on phrasing, interpretation, and stylistic nuances. I pair this experience with my knowledge and skills to help them learn correct and appropriate vocal support and techniques. ...

About Cody

So, what is the "right way" to sing? Well, there's more than one answer. Having performed in, and taught various genres (including but not limited to jazz, musical theatre, opera, pop, barbershop, A-Capella, and do-wop), I have encountered countless ideas on what people think the correct technique is. Many find it far too difficult to coordinate the seemingly overwhelming technicalities that can accompany "correct" vocal use. I am proud to say that I have come across the best combination of tools and a straight-forward approach to vastly improving your abilities and overall vocal health. I am confident that it is the easiest and most efficient way to get the results you're looking for. I will help you preserve your voice as well to achieve the most important thing - longevity. READ THE BREAKDOWN.

Cody is a great producer and a great guy - both are equally important in creating the best recording experience. Some of his attributes are best expanded upon with bullet-points.

HUMBLE.
This is hugely important. There is not a pretentious bone in his body. Cody is great at what he does but is not afraid to ask for help from people who might know more about whatever aspect of the music creation process specific to the artist. There is no “I’m the producer and I know more than you” attitude. Instead, his attitude is very much of equality where both parties understand the strengths that they bring to the table.

PATIENT.
Sometimes I have a lot of ideas - or none at all. Cody would bear with my A.D.D. moments in the studio when dealing with ideas that I sometimes couldn't communicate. Instead of writing my ideas off, he instead worked with me until we achieved exactly what I was trying to get at.

RESPECTFUL.
Being an artist himself, Cody has immense respect for the artist and their creations.

UNDERSTANDING.
Cody’s understanding of all kinds of music lends to his fearlessness of exploring new genres - but it doesn't stop at exploring - he captures their essence. I've heard tracks he’s done that are R&B, indie-rock, country, EDM, etc. and its hard to imagine they were all from the same brain. If you wanted a Bollywood track, I’m sure he could give you one.

RESOURCEFUL.
Cody has ingenuity and is resourceful. He would never tell me what *works with my kind of music* or what kind of instrument I would *need for the song* - if we wanted a certain sound, we’d make it - out of wax paper and water bottles if necessary.

EFFICIENT.
Mostly I sat in awe and watched Cody click and move stuff.

COMMITTED.
Even when he didn't have to, Cody would work on my track in his free time meticulously making sure everything was how it should sound and also just to make sure there wasn't any territory we had overlooked.

And that's just naming a few.

All in all, Cody brings a child-like spirit of wonder to his sessions - where the song is not a job or a chore, but a new world waiting to be explored, full of possibilities waiting to be uncovered. And that excitedness and spirit of discovery is KEY to sustaining creativity in a studio environment. Not only does it make the whole process productive, it makes it FUN. Cody’s character bleeds into how he works and into what he creates and the final product reflects that.

So Helpful and Patient

Cody is one of the best voice teachers out there. Whether it's helping you get started on your first song, or helping you understand the basics of music theory, he is hands down one of the best voice teachers I have ever had. He is very patient, and within the first 5 minutes he will be able to tell what you need the most help on, sometimes without you even needing to say it. You will leave the lesson feeling fully accomplished and confident.

Awesome recording session!

I had such a pleasure working with Cody. He is so creative and wants the absolute best for his clients/students. I am a singer who sings a lot of Broadway and classical repertoire, and wanted to record a track that was more on the side of pop. I was nervous at first, but in just a couple of takes, Cody helped me find my pop voice and really made me feel at ease singing my vocals. He had me do a couple of cool tricks to really connect with what I was singing about and after that, everything clicked and I was letting myself be free with my new sound and Cody was so supportive and gave wonderful feedback. He's a great coach as well! I loved every idea he had.
I had so much fun in the studio and highly recommend working with him...I know I will again in the future.

I found Nadia after calling and speaking to several voice teachers in the LA/OC area. All of her students speak incredibly high of her.

When I first started lessons with her, I had a new found love of classical music and wanted to continue exploring where my voice could go in that arena. Nadia has been extremely open and supportive of everything I have wanted to try and has given me great repertoire suggestions when I simply had no clue.

After a little over a year with her, the range in my voice has definitely increased and my vocal quality has improved tremendously. It's amazing how different my voice sounds today compared to when I first started with her.

The work that I do at each lesson is well worth the money. I never leave without breaking a sweat!

I'€™ve known Nadia for years as both a fine performer and a great teacher and voice trouble-shooter. Her knowledge of technique is as deep as her understanding of the artistry of singing.

I'd say I'€™m an advanced singer. I'€™ve sung publicly for years a range of popular songs with a band and I'€™ve performed classical repertoire.

Many singers find The Star Spangled Banner challenging and when I was asked to sing the national anthem before a convention of thousands of people, I sought out Nadia'€™s expertise.

I had concerns about my voice being injured due to chronic illness and perhaps relying on improper technique to compensate for the resulting problems. I had trouble accessing certain parts of my range.

When I took my apprehensions to Nadia, she made quick work of the problems. She first did an evaluation by running me through various exercises in order to pinpoint where in my range issues might exist. She worked patiently with me and taught me techniques that helped me return to my full vocal range. And I'€™m most grateful to Nadia for setting my mind at ease about the shape my voice was in and restoring my confidence to perform in front of a large audience.

I have been singing my entire life but I essentially lost the ability to sing after suffering an injury to my larynx. When I asked my Dr. to recommend someone to help me regain my voice, he gave me Nadia's information. I am so very grateful he did. Nadia is by far the BEST vocal coach I have ever had, and her talent and knowledge of vocal technique is unsurpassed.

I am constantly learning how to improve my voice, increase my range, and increase my breath. She always gives me a challenge to work on and keeps it interesting every lesson. I feel extremely blessed to have found her because honestly, without her, I don't even know where my voice would be today! She is simply amazing.

I could not recommend a better teacher and person in Eulis. His kind spirit, patient demeanor, and gifted voice provides any student with a strong example of what a professional musician looks like. What most people need is someone who doesn't just paint by the numbers but who is able to assess your goals, talents and desires and match it with just the right program; you'll progress quickly and enjoy every minute of the effort. Because of his vast experience, breadth of skills and years of singing, Eulis provides the kind of musical insights that help you find out who you are and discover or refine your voice. Thanks, Eulis for all the great work we've done together and I look forward to more!

Before we get to Eulis, let’s talk me ;) I am 18 years old, and until about a month ago I had not a bit of experience in singing. At all! YOLO though, so I got online and did the searches, and immediately found Eulis. I read he had some experience performing with Disney and he had some videos of himself singing. I was drawn in by his talent and apparent, very genuine love for voice and music, just as you probably were, in that you are taking the time to read his reviews! Anyways, let me just fill you in to how much more there is to Eulis. Right off the bat, Eulis is an extremely comfortable spirit who gives off a very sincere eagerness to help you in the journey to reaching your vocal potential. Every lesson I have had, I am surprised at how easy it is to develop a skill which forces so much vulnerability from those who try to master it. Eulis creates a completely safe and fun environment in his studio were you can take risks and play with music and your voice. I feel I have his complete dedication and attention in every minute of a lesson, and even through some assignments he gives me to complete independently. Also guys, improvement is fast under Eulis’s direction. In lessons he teaches to condition the entire performer. In other words, equal focus is split between the physicality and techniques of singing and the connection to emotions in music. The combination makes you feel more like a pro than you ever thought you would! Honestly, I could not be more confident that Eulis has the talent to bring out the best of my own. Just book your first lesson to see what I mean. Happy singing!

I've been teaching Bel Canto technique for 4 years. My goal is to put myself out of a job; I want your student to be able to identify unhealthy singing habits like tension, pushing, and straining, and be able to implement breathing and relaxation techniques that will keep their voices healthy and free! I believe in the importance of messing up and learning from mistakes, as well as the importance of confidence, confidence, confidence; I do my best to provide a safe, comfortable environment.

About Natalie

Hi, there! My name is Natalie and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2010 and have loved helping my students prepare for high school, college, and professional auditions while finding their own special, unique voice. I went to UC Irvine for a BA in Drama, and I have been studying classical voice technique for 10 years now. My specialty is musical theater, and I love performing, teaching, and writing it. I've even been published as a lyricist and composer! I'm a fun and easy-going person and my teaching style is casual; I try to create a safe and comfortable space for students to learn, grow, and make a mistake every once in a while. I believe that there is a song for every voice, and I think I can help you find it. I look forward to hearing you ...

Natalie has helped me improved great in the span of just few lessons, she got me to expand me range with more ease and given a superior vocal technique. She really gets you to be active and think and learn a lot during a class. I cannot speak highly enough of Natalie She is a steal for the price of her classes, and for the quality of her classes there's not many other teacher like her.

This teacher is great! I first saw Natalie for a voice lesson because I had a bit of hyper vibrato (almost sounded like a machine gun) and trouble wavering on my longer notes. By the end of the lesson, I had not only dramatically improved in these aspects, but also had reduced my throat tension as well that I wasn't even aware I had!. Most importantly of all, I knew how to practice more effectively on my own until my next lesson. Five BIG stars from me!
