I teach Somatic Voicework The LoVetri Method created by Jeanie Lovetri) is a body-based method of vocal training which draws from many disciplines. It is based upon voice science and medicine as well as traditional classical vocal training, complementary tools such as yoga, movement, dance, acting, and speech training, and various bodywork approaches. My Education and Licensing includes, BAA of MDS studies West Virginia University, Studies in Master of Classical Performance Wichita State, Artist Diploma Duquesne University, and Levels I II & 3 In Somatic Voice Work from Shenandoah Conservatory.

I’m excited to be a TakeLessons instructor and to be able to share my experience and knowledge with you. I have been a singer and performer for over 20 years and have taught voice and beginning piano for six years.

I received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. I continued my studies in New York City in voice, acting and diction.

I continue to be an active performer specializing in musical theater, opera and concert. I began my professional career as an apprentice with the Portland Opera in Oregon. Since then, I have appeared with opera companies and orchestras throughout the United States and abroad and am a frequent guest vocalist and recitalist.

Melody has been a professional musician, vocalist, and actress since she was 16 years old. She began her career in musical theatre and graduated to film and television, starring in the independent hit "Down and Out with the Dolls." Her rolls in theatrical productions include Ti Moune in Once on This Island, Rizzo in Grease and numerable others. Originally from Washington State, she relocated to San Diego to go to college. She currently holds a Bachelor's of Music from San Diego State University's Don Powell school of Music and Dance, and is a Certified SLS Vocal Technique Instructor.
