Through my experience teaching I have found that music is a bridge that brings people together. With that being said I am very laid back, my whole goal is to make the learning process a fun one. When I was being taught I find that I learn more when I am enjoying myself, so this is the type of environment I strive to create for my students. I can specialize in guitar, such as rock/shred/blues/ and classical. I would say my strong points are in that of shred and classical, so all you shredders, I’m your guy! I have guitars and amps on hand if need be. I also specialize in drums such as rock and metal. I have roughly 16 years of experience on the kit. I can teach fundamentals like rudiments and how to apply them to the kit. If double bass is your thing, once again I’m your guy. For these types of lessons I would have to travel to you. I can also teach beginner piano, vocal, as well as some recording techniques.

Known by everyone as “Mr. Z,” I am a music teacher and children’s music performer in Conroe, Texas. I have been a teacher for over 18 years, and specialize in teaching music lessons that are enriching, entertaining, and relaxing. I teach piano, guitar and ukulele lessons for children ages 3+, teens, adults and seniors, including students with special needs.

I have a Bachelor of Music Degree from Wright State University, and have studied music with a variety of teachers in North America and Europe. In addition to my musical experience I am also a former Children’s Librarian and certified school teacher.

I have been teaching piano to students of all ages since 1992, both to individual students and groups. I taught with the Music Learning Center of Michigan. I have been a music teacher and choir director for a number of years as well. For eight years I have played the organ and piano for Church worship.

Baritone, Bryan holds a bachelor of music in classical voice from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master of Arts degree from New York University with a concentration in vocal jazz and studio music.

At 15 he was given his first Frank Sinatra record, which he would listen to for hours, studying the nuances and phrasing. In the fall of 1995, Bryan entered the Manhattan School of Music in NYC, where he majored in classical voice. During his freshman year, Bryan performed several times on New York’s restaurant row, including Don’t Tell Mamas and Danny’s Skylight Room, where he thrilled audiences with his own style and voice accompanied by his newly formed jazz trio.

In the summer of 1997, Bryan accepted an offer from the Glenn Miller Orchestra to begin touring. The tour took him all over the US, Canada, the Hawaiian Islands and Japan. He returned to the Manhattan School of Music to finish his undergraduate degree in 2000, but he remained in New York City to complete...

Robert began playing guitar in Houston, Texas at the age of 12. It was not long before he began playing in bands and played his first professional gig at age 17. Robert performed in and around the Houston area for five years before deciding to study music on the college level. He attended the University of North Texas and later attended Musicians Institute. While a student at MI, Robert was given the Outstanding Student of the Year Award for 1991-'92. Robert began teaching at MI in the guitar school (GIT) in 1993. He has played with Bo Diddley, Tim Bogert, Chevy Chase, Floyd Radford, Deacon Jones, Joe Houston and countless others. He has performed for Buddy Ebson and Chevy Chase and has partied with the Monkees. In addition to playing guitar Robert also plays and teaches bass guitar and piano.

I started playing music at the age of 3. Hailing from a long line of musicians, my first musical experiences were vocal performance & the
drum set. In junior high, I expanded my skill set to the piano. My skills were honed & perfected in the Latin Jazz/Pop super-group ‘Soulsa Caliente’. I later organized my own multi-genre band and performed in various venues throughout the city of Houston, TX & southern regions of the U.S.

My summer months were spent participating and teaching in the Diaz Music Institute’s Latin Jazz Workshop conducted annually by Jose Antonio Diaz, Horace Young, Noe Marmolejo & other great musical heavyweights. My diligence, focus, and perfectionism began to shine before I even graduated from high school.

The most notable were: All State jazz drummer #1 ranking in Texas for the year 2007-2008 & performing at the prestigious Midwest Jazz Clinic & conference 2005-2009.

Having been a public school teacher as well as a private and group piano instructor, I've observed how differently students "digest" information, and piano lessons are a great way to make use of different learning syles. I emphasize knowing HOW to practice before you leave so you'll be successful at home, and you are welcome to call me with problems during the week so you don't lose a week in progressing with your lessons. I also perform with an orchestra and want to feel proficient among my peers, so I really know how it feels to make a mistake in front of everyone. I am here to help you feel proud of your progress.

I've been drumming for over seven years, starting with a percussion background in the school band. Since moving to the drumset I continue to open up to new styles and instruments galore, the combinations and options for studying never end. :) I am currently studying jazz and Latin music among other things related to music so I can show the foundations to playing these styles while I delve further and further into it myself. I have been teaching for two years already but consider myself a student and a teacher and I believe students help the teacher just as much as I will be helping you, so I look forward to our lessons!

During my journey with the guitar I have had a chance to study with virtuoso players such as Paul Gilbert, Chris Broderick, Dan Gilbert, and some of the top guitarists and musicians in the business. I have recorded with Doug Pinnick from Kings X and have played with one of the biggest Christian bands in Los Angeles playing for thousands of people as a member of "Press Play."

In addition, I hold a degree from one of the best contemporary guitar schools in the world. At Musicians institute I had a wonderful opportunity to study and play with some of the best teachers and students learning every style of music. Ms. B has been teaching for 8 years in various settings across the country. She has taught for summer programs, after school programs, and privately in Boston, Indianapolis, and Houston.

Ms. B holds a masters degree in Opera from the Longy School of Music as well as Bachelors in Vocal Performance from Gordon College. Ms. B has also studied at IU's Jacobs School of Music and participated in the Summer Opera Workshop at BU under the direction of Sandra Kelly and Michelle Alexander.

Ms. B is a versatile performer whose experience includes opera, musical theatre, recital performances, and choral music. She has performed with various companies across the Northeast and Midwest in a wide range of operatic and musical theatre roles.

I'm a young, enthusiastic, energetic, and patient pianist with a B.A. in Jazz Piano Performance from Lewis and Clark College.

So, born in Dallas, I've spent parts of my childhood in various parts of the country, from Washington D.C. to Carbondale, Colorado to Portland, Oregon, and now in hot and humid Houston, Texas. America has a plenty to offer and our great country's musical history is rich and eclectic. I first started playing piano at a very young age from a very old lady. It was something I resented my parents for, not really understanding the whole point of playing music. But now, in retrospect, I thank them indefinitely for exposing me to one of the most important passions of my life. It was in 6th grade that I joined a rock n' roll band, singing and playing all sorts of keyboards and having a ball with music. Born and raised in Houston, TX, I graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 2000. From there, I continued my musical education by attending the Cleveland Institute of Music, attaining a Bachelor's of Music Degree in 2005, specializing in viola performance. I returned to Houston and attended the University of Houston, graduating with Master's Degree in 2008. I have played chamber music since high school, playing all of Houston in many different venues and types of occasions. I have two years of experience teaching violin in public schools in the Houston area. I also am a member of the viola section of the Victoria Symphony. If a student is interested in furthering their learning and experience in classical music, I can provide them with tools to aid them along their way.
