I started drumming at the age of five, under the instruction of my father. After drumming until the age of about 11, I got the bug for everything and anything musical. Sophomore year of High School, I decided to expand my drum education beyond that of my father's teaching, and began studying privately with a teacher in Northeast Ohio, who expanded my knowledge of drumming beyond what I ever expected for myself. He is a mentor that I continue to study under today. I've played both professionally and as a hobbyist, both in the studio, and in live situations. From Rock to Indie, and Hip-Hop to Jazz, I pride myself as being a very well rounded musician and drummer.

I have been teaching many instruments to all age groups for over 15 years. I have a lot of diverse musical experience in performing, singing, playing many instruments, recording, songwriting, and teaching. My Bachelor of Music Degree is from Heidelberg University with an emphasis in percussion and music business. I have been mostly a working musician since I graduated from college, so my knowledge comes not only from books, but also from real life work in the music field.

I was born and raised in Southern California and began studying percussion at age 9 and continued all through my school years in traditional ensembles, including marching band, concert band/orchestra, jazz band, etc. After high school I attended the US Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, VA and then served 4 years as a member of the US Army Band.
I relocated to northeast Ohio in 1995 and began working with local and regional rock, R&B, and jazz bands in the Akron/Canton/Cleveland area. I love music in all forms and live and love to play the drums everywhere from intimate jazz clubs to massive outdoor festivals and everything in between.
In 1996 I began my "second career" as a drum educator, working as percussion instructor with local school systems and a busy private lesson schedule.
